What an terrible start! That th same start as the Koko gig. Very uninspired. Prince seems obsessed with Satisfied.

On the other hand, Guitar is a great closer!!!!

I just put in a detailed review of the set and it disappeared!!!! damn the org sometimes! sorry, Ben! wink

so just a quick comment on the opener: -

- interesting choice but again did not work. yes I loved it, fast hot new orleans style jazz and it had me off my seat having a great time, but looking around people did not get it at all! That went in to satisfied which had a long intro too with Morris saying stuff i could not really decipher. and eventually even though he'd been on stage for a good 5 mins, it was gone 9pm when prince uttered his first lyrics!

oh, and what a wonderful world has become in interlude for 10,000 poeople to up and leave for drinks, toilet and food while the other 10,000 chat amongst themselves, completely ignoring the incredible live musicianship taking place before their very eyes!

Reading that list, I've gotta say, I'm glad I saw the Wednesday and not the Friday.

playlist does not look as good, plus it was a shorter performance by almost 30 mins, but overall I think it was a better concert as what he did play was more fleshed out and satisfying and he played a lot of guitar. Purple Rain featured multiple long solos far far better than as an opener on wednesday. However Wednesday had a fantastic encore with the solo guitar section especially.

Each to their own I guess.

Guys on what track did he go mad on the bass, soloing

"Say, go Prince go Prince, Play that bass"

Cream was my highlight

AND FOLKS YOU REALLY WILL NOT GET A BAD SEAT - I WAS AT THE BACK OF THE ROUND AND IT WAS GOOD, THE HIGHER UP YOU ARE ON THE LOWER TIER THE BETTER THE VIEW OF THE STAGE

I can honestly say I ain't missing a darn thing in the UK. Seriously! Here I was a little down that I wouldn't get to hear the new songs nor anything off of 3121...and neither are the folks going to see him. The fact that Chelsea Rogers has yet to be played = disbelief

I WAS THERE LAST NIGHT AND...

Found the show slightly disappointing, all things considered. The setlist was especially poor, IMO.

Satisfied? Not really, and what a curious opening!

Lolita and Black Sweat? Decent jams but not in anyway the funkiest jams Prince has ever recorded.

Ending with Guitar was nothing short of a travesty.

Prince didn't dance much except for one time he slithered across the stage on his belly at the beginning.

I had higher expectations for this show.. it was OK but nothing spectacular.

Well, the folks who went opening night got to hear, Lolita, Black Sweat, Satisfied and Get On The Boat from 3121. He also played Somewhere Here On Earth, Planet Earth and Guitar from Planet Earth. There was also s short ballad version of The One U Wanna C mixed in to Pink Cashmere.

Then he did 3121 at the aftershow. So some of us have now heard half of 3121 live and a 3rd of Planet Earth.
RIP sad

I'd say Cream is one of my favorites, and I hope he plays it when I go see him, but the setlist better not be like that, I hope it's more like the first night.

Personally, I'd rather not hear those you mentioned. He has such a deep catalog, he could play tons of hits and not hit "the staples" Like Kiss, PR, Cream, etc.
