Just thank your lucky stars that you're not a Barbara Streisand fan, You'd have to sell your firstborn to be able to afford to see her live! ( But I get your point, this whole ticket thing has been a shambles, but lest not forget that it's gonna be a beautiful night!)

i think you will probably have the best seats in the house view wise..i would have been happy with a central view....i have vip tickets in the corner section ???...its just the fact that you know that people will have better seats than you and paid nothing like 235 a ticket...thats what the problem is...[/quote]

My point exactly

Hi Chris0972

Ticketmaster are breaking their contract terms and conditions with you, so I would contact them, the original advert stated 'Are the very best seats within the first 10 rows around the stage'

This is clearly not the case for you, so I would contact ticketmaster and demand a change of seat to within 10 rows of the stage on the floor, as advertised, I have done this myself and proven to them their original advert stated this, ticketmaster contacted the event organiser, who has promised me in writing I will have VIP tickets within 10 rows of the stage on the floor seating area.

Good luck.

i might be in a similar boat...didnt get my vip tix yet as its 4 sept 1st...however could you please post the original advert here for the rest of us 2 copy n paste 2 send 2 ticketmaster.
they r clearly taking the piss out of the real fams who paid through the nose 4 these so called vip tickets....its a total farce and prince will lose many loyal fams after all the seating fiasco....they should have released the npgmc tix as a presale instead of what they did n then i would have saved over 200 quid!!!!
IM FURIOUS mad

Hi Wolfy

Having read allot of comments about the VIP ticket arrangements, stating that tickets are in first 11 rows of ground floor or the lower tier, I wasn't happy that I bought 2 tickets for £474.95 for the VIP 'gold circle' which were promised to be among the best seats in house, whereas in lower tier I could be sat further away than I could have bought lower tier tickets for £31.21 the same night in row D a few weeks ago when Ticketmaster released more tickets.

I phoned Ticketmaster on 23/07/07 to voice my concern and clarrify that I have VIP tickets within the first 10 rows from the stage on the ground, they said that was not the case, I could be in first 11 rows of the ground or lower tier, tickets are to be allocated on purchase date/time, I pointed out this was different from the AD I saw on 3121.com when I bought my tickets so they were in breach of contract, the AD took me straight to Ticketmaster where I bought the VIP tickets, at this point they said the AD never said that, I pointed out I had a copy of the AD taken on 11/05/07 when tickets went on sale (having dealt with ticketmaster before I always take a screenshot of the AD/booking details biggrin ). At this point they asked me to email the AD from www.3121 to them which I did with the email below :

As requested, please find the Website 'www.3121.com' advert where I clicked the link to buy the VIP tickets for Prince on 11/08/07, this website then took me directly to ticketmaster.co.uk where I purchased the VIP tickets, as you can see it clearly states that the tickets 'Are the very best seats within the first 10 rows around the stage', the AD only shows the boat trip, but the VIP party package I booked was exactly the same 'Gold Seats'

I have also attached this AD in word format in case you have trouble reading it in your email client.

Please let me know ASAP as to how this will be dealt with, as it is getting close to the event if I have to change tickets.

If you require any further info, please let me know.

VIP AD on 3121

Ticketmaster replied 25/07/07 guaranteeing me tickets within the first 10 rows of the stage :

Dear Mr. XXXXX

I received an email from the account manager that is dealing with this event and he has said that he will make sure that you get seats within the first 10 rows in the Floor Seating Area, but he cannot guarantee which block the seats will be allocated in. If you can reply to this email just to confirm that you are now aware of this resolution. Also if you have anymore queries feel free to contact me.

Yours sincerely
XXXXX

I would advise anyone who bought VIP tickets thinking they would be in the first 10 rows next to the stage to contact ticketmaster ASAP, if you leave it until the concert I think the prople at the O2 will not be able to move you on the night.

The phone number I used for ticketmaster is 0161 385 3613, just ask for customer services, they were very helpful, much more than the lousy website !!!

The ad is posted here but it says awaiting approval since i uploaded it.

if u purchased tix at the start when the vip tix were advertised as "the very best floor seats within the first 10 rows" and it said "general admission" on the booking reference, and this was before they were changed to say "within first 10 rows on the floor or lower tier", and you didn't receive floor tix within the first 10 rows - ie. ANY tier seats or seats 11 row or more back, you are within your statutory consumer rights to obtain a refund under the sale of goods act 1994

in order to do this, you need to contact TM to request a refund as the tickets provided differ from those as advertised as point of purchase. if the initial customer service person can't/won't arrange this, tell them thanks for thier help, but you will need to speak to someone who can arrange this for you if they cant help

when you call, note the date and time of call, and obtain the full name and job title of the person you are speaking to (always do this with any problematic CS calls whatever the reason or subject - ie. not just with TM), and if they offer to transer you to a supervisor, ask them to tell you the full name and job title of the person you are being transfered to, and thier direct dial and email address in case you are disconnected. they wont like to give you this, but upon asking they will see you are serious

if the supervisor says they have to refer it to an accounts manager, ask for the name of the accounts manager they are referring to, and the direct dial number and email address, and then ask to speak to that person. if they refuse to do this, tell them you want the name and job title of that persons line manger. they wont want to give you this either, but persist. this shows you know what you are doing and they are less lkely to muck you about

if they say they will return a call, ask the timeframe. if you arent happy with that timeframe, tell them. ie. if they say they will call in 4 hours, tell them you arent satisfied with that, and you want a call back in one hour (ie. comprise so it's 2 hours), and you want an explanation as to why a large orgnisation like TM can't arrange your legal right to a refund automatically, or call you back within one hour

if they don't call back in the given timeframe, give them one extra hour and call back

if you aren't getting lucky, call the trading standards in westminster (google i t up) and ask them to deal with your case on your behalf, and provide them with full details including the names and job titles and contact details of all the people you have spoke to. you should then seperately contact your local citizens advice buro and ask them to do the same

you have a legal right to a refund if you got tier seats and you purchased when advertised as floor seats, and the above decribes the legal method for doing so

please be polite and calm, and thank them at all times when calling. TM aren't specifically to blame as they are only the sales middle men for AEG, so don't express anger to them or they won't be so happy to help you

I really feel sorry for you Chris, indeed you have been screwed over, but you are in good company. look on the bright side if you will - at least you have a ticket to the show. I bought 3 vip for wed/fri/sat, leave for london tomorrow and have not recieved any of the tickets.

actually let me correct that, i have my tickets for september 9th so is should be well on time for that gig !!

spoke with tm and I have to get in queue at their box office at 18.30 on wed night and again on fri and sat night to get my replacements. wow i feel like a VIP.

there will always be another tour [ his ego would not survive otherwise] , but there will never again be a river jones parting with his hard earned cash.

join the club, they in the good seats - yeah right...

prince quote of the day from resolution on pe "the main problem with people is they never do what they say". yeap, stop talking about yourself prince and start managing your business affairs more professionally.
