3121 Menu

The Specialty menu is the best way to go. All the courses are flavorful. My favorites were the Sweet Corn Bisque, Wild Alaskan Salmon Fillet(rare), Filet Mignon(rare) and the 3121 Chocolate Souffle. I asked for the lightest dessert as I was already taking things "to go". The wine pairings were perfect for each course and the price for the qualilty of the meal is very reasonable. This would be much more in San Francisco or NY. With the VIP package, it's a bargain. I highly recommend it.

is the Speciality menu what you automatically get when you book the VIP package with dinner?

Yes. Normally the feast would be $125.00 per person. With the VIP package it's $75 per person.Throw in $50 per person and you get the wine pairings.
Here's the total:
PER PERSON
General admission concert tickets.....$125
Upgrade to VIP table with bottle of champ....$150 (or chilled vodka)
Total.....$275
VIP package with tasting menu....$350 which means the tasting menu is only $75 more which is a great deal. There's tax I haven't calculated so it's a little more.

The nice thing about the VIP seating is you are guaranteed a good view. And security is tight. Those without proper bracelets were ushered out.
With the wine pairings if you had before dinner drinks, wine, and after dinner drinks the bar bill would be at LEAST the $50/person for the pairings. And you get perfect wine for each course. The port with the souffle dessert really hit the spot. The wines aren't cheap either. As soon as I saw the Cakebread Sauvignon Blanc paired with the Wild Alaskan Salmon Fillet I knew we made a great decision.
(I keep this up and 3121 will start charging more.)
The service was wonderful. Our waiter was attentive and all the employees did a professional job. Kudos to their enthusiasm.

Yeah that's what I was thinkin'. Kind of curious really. confuse It's hard for me to believe that he would be cool with that. I'm thinkin back to "Animal Kingdom" and what not. Was that only a phase? Crazy.

Probably, if you ask. There is a risotto entree that looks vegetarian.

Yes, and with all due respect, if you walk through the Rio or ANY casino/hotel in Vegas and inhale the cigarette smoke, observe the gambling and drinking.....how far do you think a healthy Vegetarian Restaurant will fly??? Lena Morgan is the executive chef. She probably has a separate menu for Prince.
Between the main show and the jazz cuisine performance there was a few hours down time. I figured Prince had a snack from the restaurant in between? He certainly expends alot of energy/calories on stage.
I appreciate the fact, whatever Prince's choice of food, he allows his Chef to have her own creative menu. I wouldn't have eaten there if it were all vegetarian.

Directly across from 3121 is Gaylord's a Northern Indian restaurant. There's plenty of vegetarian choices on their menu. We were in the mood for lamb when we were there, and I suggest the combination vegetarian or meat plates as yogurt, rice, chutneys, lentils....and this was a fantastic flavorful dish...., Indian bread are included. Otherwise it's a'la carte. What you order is all you get. The meal was great. Unfortunately, after the meal when I needed to use a restroom, I was directed to use the 3121 restrooms as they were closest. I did, but came back and mentioned how tacky it was to send their customers to a competitor's restroom! It's not an inexpensive Indian restaurant!
Even at Emeril's at another casino. Same deal. No bathroom facilities in the place, you have to wander out in the casino. At least 3121 has their own restroom facility.

I didn't do the gen admin concert tickets but called straight to the Rio and booked the VIP package with dinner. Cost $701 for 2 people. So I guess that's about the same except I'm not clear if we get the wine. (I'm not a wine drinker anyway- and plan to try and not drink too much that night- want to be able to remember every detail!!!). just wondering if I missed a better deal...

No, you do not get the wine. That's $50 more per person. And it's a good idea to pace yourself on the drinking. I switched to coffee and water in the AM hours. By the time Prince finished, I'd be waking up from a good night's sleep, under normal circumstances, and putting on my running shoes and hitting the pavement. Prince must be used to working the "night shift". I even took a nap in preparation for being up all night. It's best to be informed. Last time we were in San Fransico, had reservations for our favorite Middle Eastern restaurant which was 8;30. Had traveled all day, the previous show carried on longer, weren't seated until 9;00.....never saw the show we paid for.The only entertainment was watching the previous crowd go around the room doing a snake dance, on and on.... I was exhausted, hungry, and pissed.... no bellly dancers at all, and left immediately after the meal. It was awful and won't go back there again. This trip we spent more time and really enjoyed everything.

Thanks! So it'd actually be $400 per with the wine pairings?
I did think the dinner package was the way to go. We had to have a table (we like to sit biggrin ), and it seemed silly not to go the extra $76 for a 6 course meal in his restaurant.
I'm normally pretty good on "night shift", just slightly worried about the time change since I'm East coast.

Yes. $400/person with wine. The restaurant business is tough and competitive. It takes an excellant chef, an investor, and a market to pull it off. The place is under the 3121 umbrella. Prince isn't in the kitchen. Although I could see him in an apron. Rather see him on stage and Lena Morgan in the kitchen. razz
Food tastes so much better.

which is fine and all, but this is the same man who used to lecture spike lee about the evils of drinking milk. he used to be quite passionate and uncompromising about his beliefs, and i'm sure if someone told him then that in ten years he'd be serving force-fed goose, he'd have pitched a fit.

prince's restaurant can serve pan fried babies for all i care - i just wish the media would quit touting him as some kind of celebrity vegetarian when he most clearly isn't.

big compromise between Fiore and 3121.....they still have to cater to the Fiore customers since it will become Fiore once again in a few months

then they can go back to cigar smoking inside and an all beef menu

I agree with you. If he is still vegan, I can understand that he need not run a vegetarian restaurant - but foie gras??!! Come on!! Maybe he has tossed all ethics to the wind.

Well, I was TOTALLY planning to steal the salt and pepper shakers, but they picked them up RIGHT after I finished my entree. I guess they've been stole before. wink They're really cute stone-shaped and silver with little holes and lay flat on the table. Maybe I was eyeing them too closely. eek

falloff giggle my friend totally almost stole them for me, until I told her absolutely not to do so!! they were very cute! nod
It was good I guess though to be there with a non-"fam". She thought to ask our waiter about "getting Prince in here" to which we found out he had just walked past us w/o us realizing, she asked for the menus- which never would have crossed my mind, and had I let her- I'd have some salt/pepper shakers! lol lol Was good for me to have her around- I was a nervous wreck about everything, but she didn't care. During the aftershow, she was up dancing about 2 inches from the horns. It was funny, she never pays any mind to this type of stuff, but then when the NFL press performance was on (2 weeks after our trip), she was all like- "hey- I know those guys"!! lol

Forget about it, when I go back that's the FIRST thing I'm doing. . . swiping the salt/pepper shakers. Then I'll be like, "Excuse me, but we don't have salt and pepper shakers. . ." That's how you do that. hmmm whistling

I went with 3 casual fans on Friday night and they were the same way afterwards saying it was the BEST show they'd ever seen. Matter of fact, one of my friends who was falling asleep and in a rotten mood while we were waiting for 3 hours for the show start, actually wants to go back with me in March. . . if someone would announce the dates and sell tickets. confused

Wow $400 this past weekend for roughly an hour show on saturday? Thats not including tip & airfare hotel etc.. I hope ya'll can afford it. I've spent that kind of money in the past & got alot more bang for the buck in show length/aftershow etc. Again if it doesn't break your bank then put some funk in yo trunk. Otherwise wait for the tour, do the "work" to get into the aftershow & save some much need pennies.

Well, all the Vegas shows I've been to were close to 2 hours long or more, plus 2-2.5 hour long after show. All of this with Prince less than 10 feet away in an intimate venue. Plus, on New Year's Eve I got to tell him he was clapping off beat, in my ear BTW, and he complimented my boots.

Therefore, to me, this is better than all the tours in the world. Besides, I went to 5 Musicology shows and there was only one after show which I missed because it started at 4 am and nobody was sure he was even showing up.

I'm sorry but despite the expense, IMHO Vegas RULES and I'll be right back up in there if, and when, he releases dates! nod headbang dancing jig

nod nod nod nod nod cool

yes, exactly! I'm spoiled now- I've already said that a tour is great but I will never be the same after Vegas....no matter how good my seats are at any future show- it will not be as good.
thank you again Prince!!!
touched worship woot!

and btw, I live in NJ. From what I understand- and please correct me if I'm wrong- all the clubs he's done aftershows at here in NY- were close to the size as 3121 in Vegas. Now, that's the MAIN show, the aftershow (size & feel) is indescribable to anyone who hasn't been.

NO! All I did was ask for a menu, as I planned to post it on a website. (here)
They were very accomodating and my husband thinks it's to a resturant's advantage to have the menu circulating as it advertises the food.

No beans and bangers, either. That's British bar food. This is a "5 star" caliber resturant. I've eaten at several in New York, New Orleans, San Francisco, and my hometown. The staff aren't snooty like some 5 star places, and the prices are nothing near what it could be.
