2/24 Review Of Sorts

He played 'Guitar' !!!!

His acoustic set was amazing. He seemed to be having a great time.

Some gems -- 'Sometimes It Snows In April' 'Pink Cashmere'.

People were really into it tonight. Last night was a bit lackluster..

Started at 12:45 ended at 1:45

More tomorrow.
Love wins. (Seen on bumpersticker)

Loving the fact that he added an acoustic set. I haven't heard that before. I wonder if it has to do with his guitar tech issues??? confused Next, he'll be rolling out the purple piano, if we're lucky. lol

Wow just an hour? That's very strange but I'm glad to hear he did an acoustic set. I wonder how Guitar sounds live?
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I am going to keep this short and sweet (just like Prince did last night). This was my 82nd Prince show and what a show! I will leave the set list to someone else to post. He actually started at 12:18 and ended at 1:32. The only negative I really have to say is Prince missed the opportunity to in my eyes have the best performance I have ever seen ONLY because of the length of the show. This show by far had the very best sound, song selection and fans I have seen since I started this journey with him in 1980. I met some great Prince.org family including Rose from Michigan, Cindy from PA, Matt from Arizona and many more. Sharing Prince stories with younger Prince fans is always a joy. Thanks goes out to Cindy for sharing her VIP table with me!!! On another subject I had a chance to talk to Trevor and he was cool with me as usual. There is nothing wrong with this guy, he just has a tough job. I did get confirmation that Prince will be leaving at the end of March going on tour in May and closing 3121 Club and Restaurant. Rumor has it that Michael Jackson is looking at taking over the club?? Hmmmmm? Time to get some more sleep!!! I am still on Kentucky time!!!! THANK YOU PRINCE! Please bring that symbol stage to Churchill Downs in Louisville. Churchill Downs hosted The Stones there last year and was a perfect fit for your new stage. Peace, Gary lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol

I agree! I am working on a review, but have been hesitant because I didn't want to come across as negative. Something about the whole show was a bit off, especially at the beginning after "Purple Rain". Even though he did tear the roof off with "Anotherloverholeinyohead" and "Let's Go Crazy" at the end, I could tell the crowd wasn't into it and neither was he. I found myself ready to go at about 1:00 am, but I hung in there.

No aftershow! mad sad

I wasn't at the 2/23 show, but was at the aftershow that night. The lady at the desk told me that Prince had a big list of guests coming to his aftershow, so they could only let in 15-17 people. We just made it. It was awesome, but not as much dancing as I have heard from other people's reviews. Maybe that Friday night crowd was more of his "people" and not his fans. Anyways it was great, he was great! Like a jerk I reached out and touched his shoulder. His gaurd pushed my hand away very quikly, but I just wanted to say Hi. The aftershow went by very quickly for me. I can't really tell you what was played. He did sing Satisfied, and played the drums at the end of the night. He is so talented! Anyone else that was there please help me, I still haven't slept much.

Oh, also, Saturday 2/24 was awesome also but short. He sang so many great songs. I can't remember exactly the list, but it was only him, no Shelby, no one else sang. Guitar was great, and his white suit with the light purple shirt, and the purple scarf in the pocket, was so sexy! Good job Prince, thanks for the great concert!

Oh, I see. Thanks for clarifying, now I understand why no announcement was made.

What a great experience. Fun music played by DJ Rashida before the show. Cool videos (especially the ones of Prince, of course). Fun org-ers there (a special "what, what" to Brocklynn and hubby!) Prince was in a flirty, playful mood with the audience -- lots of those adorable side glances and "y'all can't handle this" teasing. He was adorable, as usual.
Songs that I remember:
Satisfied
Cream
Te Amo Corazon
Pink Cashmere
Lolita
Kiss
I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man
If I was Your Girlfriend (briefly)
Sometimes it Snows in April
Guitar
Purple Rain (he said "I love this song")
I Would Die 4 U
We were surprised he played so many hits, but it's Vegas so...
And luckily we caught the aftershow Friday night. A great jam session. Hearing Satisfied in that small setting was so, so satisfying! I was able to gently touch Prince's arm as he passed by on his way to the stage to play the drums. And he smelled as good as all the others who posted had said. Special thanks to all who post here because before going to Vegas we read all your 3121 experiences and listened to your advice and had a terrific time. If he plays in March and you plan to go, just wanted to mention we didn't do VIP, and didn't feel like we missed out on anything. Tip: Jordan, Eryn, and Parker who were working the aftershow line were really nice to us and tried to ensure people didn't cut in front of those of us who had waited in line since 12:30. So be kind to them -- it can get a bit chaotic around there!
