Hey... this hasn't been done in awhile.

It's the new Org. and I see a lot of new faces.

Let's introduce ourselves (old and new) and give eachother the reason behind our names and avatars.

June7: My birthday and Prince's.

I was born June 7, 1965. Prince, June 7, 1958. He's exactly seven years older than me. I always thought that was cool. Seven is my favorite number.

All my avatars have been old school Prince-related. Vanity's part of that era so why not.

my avater is my own pic. and my name is simple: I'm brown, hence 'mocha' and I wear locks, hence 'lox'. I decided to use mochalox since I use it everywhere on the web. That way my fam and friends can find me everywhere. (that's about the only consistant thing in my life....LOL)

I took a small break from the Org and did not want to return as Stymie, a family nickname so I picked TOFKA. New attitude, new name. My avvie was once again, given to me by BananaCologne. I picked it cuz the artist's name is Roberto Romo and it remninded me of my middle name Romera.

Sweeny is a character in a SCI-FI book I love called "Waking the Moon" by Elizabeth Hand.

Sweeny becomes involved in a love triangle that is controlled by circumstances WAY over her head,( the moon goddess, a cult of sorts, time travel, telepathy, magik , the occult ), anyhoo... in the middle of the book Sweeny is in a taxi, after being separated from her love by many forces at play, and The Beautiful Ones comes on the radio and she starts to cry and the book says:

So This is what it's like to get old, you ride around in cabs and cry when you hear Prince on the radio.....

Then I heard a low voice whisper "Sweeny, I'll love you next time..."

Sweeny never "gets" the guy but she ends up finding out that she was the one he loved all along. (It's a complicated and very out there book but it's definitely worth the time to read it. )

Someone I love very much told me that it sounds melancholy and I suppose it does and that's why I like it.

My avatar is a picture of the mud flap girl, Sweeney is a company that makes mudflaps. She started out as a joke but I came to love her sexy silly connotation (and the memories that they evoke) and I adopted her as a symbol for myself.





and that's probably WAY more than anyone wanted to know!
