News about fries! This should be of interest to a certain Orger! eheheh...
McDonald's have been censored by the advertising watchdog for making up 'misleading' claims about the origins of its fries. The offending advert featured a photograph of a potato in a McDonald's box below the headline 'The story of our fries (end of story)'. The advert claimed that the company's methof of transforming potatoes into fries was very simple: 'We peel them, slice them, fry them and that's it'. But the Advertising Standars Authority (ASA) received a a number of complaints saying that the poster's message had omitted less savoury parts of the production process. They included a claim that McDonald's fries were part-cooked in beef tallow, frozen, flown around the world and deep fried again. In its defence, McDonald's said the advert was to show its fries were made from real, not reconstitued potato, The company said most of the potatoes it used came from the UK, that beef tallow had not been used in the Uk since 1993 and that 'par-frying and freezing processes' were common in the fast-food industry. But the ASA ruled that most people would assume the advert was describing the whole process and told McDonald's not to use the same approach again. Bit much of a muchness I guess but 'beef tallow'? ewww!

If it ain't London, it ain't relevant! haha I was in Manchester the other week and a chip shop was selling something called barmy cakes! What the smeg is that? Except when it comes to food! Look, I love the Brits (their contributions to music and comedy alone endear them to me), but they aren't exactly known for culinary prowess! In fact, you guys have a reputation for having some really awful food! So sorry to point this out! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

If you go to the grocery store and pick up a bag of OreIda frozen french fries, it's basically the same thing, they're pre-processed. No real shocker there.
It's sorta silly how some of these fast food places are more willing to dump money into misleading advertising to make thier food look healthier, instead of just implementing healthier options on their menus. When have you ever driven past a fast food place and saw a barn and a garden out back? Of course the stuff is frozen and flown in from all over the world!
