I don't agree with the notion that a joke can ever be outdated. If it was funny then, it's funny now. Eddie Murphy's bit about having a nightmare where he goes to Hollywood and finds out Mr. T is gay is hilarious.

Respectfully agree to disagree then. There were many comics back in the day who used Asian men & culture as a punch line (among other racial groups) yeah the audience laughed then. If they performed the same jokes now would they generate the same reaction? Can Eddie Murphy get away with his same gay jokes in 2018 especially his history post-Raw? That’s what I meant by outdated.

Eddie was in his early-mod 20s when those specials came out. A doubt a damn near 60 year old man is gonna be talking about the same things when je was younger.

I also still laugh at Men on Films from ILC to this day. Still funny.

True! Age plays a huge factor. I’d still love it if he pushes his fear away and and come back with a special, I’m sure it will be funny.

If it's funny, then I'll still laugh. I don't care if it's about any minority, regardless of whether or not I am part of that minority, funny is funny.

I don't find the premise of the question to be valid if we are going to judge comedians only by their stand up specials on cable. eek

Are we forgetting that the Mac Man had his own television show for six years? That's is more significant than a few specials here and there I would think.

And Bernie did not lift anybody's routine. You're talkin about two men of similar age, experience and environment when speaking of him and Robin.

On the kings of comedy tour, that I saw live, (yes I'm old) I thought he was way funnier than DL and Ced, who is very hit or miss and none of Ced's shows were nearly as funny as Bernie or even Steve's shows.

Furthermore, since somebody went there, Delirious and Raw are classics....who doesn't know that?

Robert Townsend never has been and never will be funny.

The only funny Wayans Brothers are Keenan and Damon. The others are silly AF. Kim is just unfortunate.

Both Chris Rock and Tucker do smart humor with Rock being the smartest but their shrill delivery irks the crap out of me. Hurts my ears trying to listen to them. lol

To this day nobody is even close to touching the likes of Pryor or Carlin IMO. cool

My twelve cents.

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Literally every single word of this is right on the money as far as I'm concerned.

I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Bernie Mac and he was the most humble man I can ever have contact with. He was NOTHING like I expected him to be.

R.I.P. Bernie
