I don't think Chris Carter will ever wrap anything up. If he can he will just make the Cigarette Smoking Man come back from the dead for the millionth time and pretend that makes for exiting television.

Somebody, on the last thread I think, commented negatively about the "silly monster of the week" episodes. Looking back on the series as a whole, most of my favorite episodes could be characterized as such.

Remember when the series first came out on DVD? In addition to the complete seasons (and later, complete series) you could buy Mythology collections and watch the ongoing stories all in a row... I was just thinking, I'd rather watch all the monster of the week episodes and skip the mythology. The ongoing storylines were interesting to me on first viewing, and kept me on the edge of my seat as to what was coming next. Now, knowing how it all turns out, they kind of annoy me. Give me the One & Done episodes anytime and I enjoy them.

Maybe it's just me...

I love those episodes, fun to watch.

Way back in '93 I started watching (and taping) the show in real time, starting with the pilot (I knew I was going to love it). Looking back, almost EVERY single one of my favorite episodes is a One & Done.

Next time I rewatch, I might intentionally skip all the mythology episodes and see how it plays without them.

Yes, I'm also liked that with Super Natural, they have this whole story line with Angels and Demons but they do have a few episodes (One and Done) through out the season and those end up as my favorite episodes. This week they will be on Scooby Doo
