Anyone else suffer with sleep paralysis? I hate it its when you wake up but you cant move only your eyes can move and when I scream only a wisper comes out lasts a few minutes then I wake up properly scares the crap out of me. I'm just like everybody else I need love.....and water.

According to the internet, it's no big deal. It's just that you woke up in the middle of a dream and your brain is stopping you from acting out whatever you were dreaming about. Which, I guess, is a bummer if you were dreaming about jamming with Prince, or doing something sexy with the one you love.

My ex husband used to constantly dream that the devil was sitting on his back and he couldn’t scream. He used to moan and make wimpy noises but he could move because when it happened I’d get kicked and smacked over the head -I hated sleeping with him and often ended up on the sofa 😕 mailto:www.iDon'tThinkSo.com.Uranus

It's the scariest of all things, I have felt this sometimes, I couldn't move nor scream and I felt how something sat ar one side of my bed, it was just awful.

In my opinion sleep paralysis or The Witch is riding you and so on are Parasites moving through your system while you're sleeping....If your nervous system is riddled with them then your'e gonna Snore and Grind your teeth...Parasites disturb the Immune system while you're sleeping...Eventually our Primary Physicians will go back to school and study Parasites....

I think it is mostly a dream... I have been able to get up and move...but when I woke up I was in bed. (when I had a spinal block I could move my toes and walk but I could not feel them. I just imagined them moving and they did... which caused me to have complications).

oh and last night I did wake up laughing about the dream I was having... I wish I could remember what it was... it was some part of the Zelda game where you can push NPCs into lava or something... whatever I am not sure it was all that funny but in the dream state it was and I was laughing when I woke up! And I woke up my Honey too! "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

I used to freak me out too, but now I remember it is just a dream or whatever... and I relax and kind of meditate... sometimes I get up and walk around. Years ago I would go out of the house and fly around the neighborhood but it was not really the same. "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

I remember hearing that in the film waking life is that true then? I'm just like everybody else I need love.....and water.

absolutely... I have done it for YEARS! I find that jumping works best...just a small hop in the air... what you do is you get in the habit of doing it a few times a day. that helps unlock lucid dreaming. "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

I have had Sleep Paralysis for quite a number of years now. First time it really freaked me out. Now not so much but its certainly not a nice experience. The worst time I can recall is a really tall figure with a disfigured face looking directly into mine which was like a Horror movie. I don't know if they have a linkage to nightmares but that experience was nightmateish for sure.

I've had it for many years although not recently. It's terribly scary, it feels like there's some devilish presence that's keeping you down/immobile on your bed, I can feel its presence but can't see it clearly, and there is a sense of imminent danger. And all that time you can't move/'escape'. I've read it's more likely to occur if you're sleep deprived.

I remember my first one tho I woke up (Or at least I thought I was awake), well you're partly awake at last I guess. So I was in my room, I still shared it with my sister at this time and it was like early in the morning, my sister went out of bed to get ready for school, my brother was getting ready for work. And I was laying in bed, I wanted to get up but I couldn't move one inch. I thought I was paralysed.
My mother yelled: "Ahmir, get out of bed, you're late for school!" But I couldn't answer, I wanted to tell her that I can't move. But I couldn't talk. And then I had this feeling, it was like something's sitting on my back, grabbing my neck, and then I thought: "Fuck, you either get your neck broken, or raped."
I fell asleep again and when I woke up (for real this time), everything was dark and my sister was still in bed. I looked at my watch and it was 4 am.
My second was just a few months ago. I was taking a nap one day and I was dreaming that I was taking the dogs for a walk with my sister. We just wanted to get into the forest but then she stopped and looked at me. I looked her in the eyes and said: "What is it?" But she just kept staring at me. Then I "woke" up in the living room, I was laying on the back this time and I knew that it was the same shit again, because I couldn't move. And then I saw a coal black claw over my head, reaching out for me. I knew what it was and I wanted to scream for someone to wake me up, but it doesn't work tho. You can't move and you can't scream .
It's totally scary when it happens and I really hope that it won't happen again any time soon.

Indeed, quite scary. Actually that happened to me the very first time back January fist 2004 at 04:30 and I saw a big man with white face and he was over the roof of another apartment, I felt how he was staring at me, that's the most terrifyin experience ever.

Hmm, the only time I can remember an episode like that was when I was a teenager, probably coming down with the flu, and I read Bram Stoker's "Dracula" for the first time...then I had a dream where I was in my room with the lights off and Dracula was there bending over my bed to bite me...and I couldn't wake up or scream (even though I KNEW I was awake!) Sounds bizarre but it was so terrifying to me I remember it until this day... The paralysis was terrifying. When I came out of it, it was an early winter evening and I was alone in the bedroom... Perhaps it was a nightmare, who knows. At that time I was 15 close to 16 yo.

What I described was a "waking nightmare" as they called it back then--definitely "sleep paralysis" as it is known now... It is terrifying. For those who experience it all the time, they have my sympathies. I literally couldn't move even though I knew I was awake (I could hear family voices and the TV outside of the closed door of my room) and probably hallucinating... So bizarre... I hear you. It's some weird shit. I've had it where it seemed as though someone was breaking in my house and I struggle to move and get my shit so I could cut the robbers off. I've also had them where I hear weird music in the background and one time it was Tammi Terrell All I Do and that really freaked me the hell out. Don't laugh at my funk

A few times I've subconsciously tried to move and that's a strange experience too and I feel real bad for anyone who has to deal with paralysis, locked in syndrome, etc who have to deal with this 24/7. Luckily its only a few minutes and intermittent. Last time I had it was late last year I think. Used to happen quite regularly but now I know the feeling subsides. First time it happened though was real weird.
