I'm ambivalent about this one; I don't want to see yet another classic trashed with a disasterous sequel.

the trailer looks pretty good to me, and i think denis villeneuve has made a series of really worthwhile, interesting movies, so i am reasonably enthusiastic. that said, i've never really loved the original (i'll certainly salute its look & style, but i'm kinda indifferent otherwise), so i'm not coming into this as someone who views this as a possible blemish on a cherished classic or anything.

Well U need 2 see it, I would say wait until B R 2049 comes out, but Blade Runner is a must. Prince loved it, inspired sounds/imagery from 1999/Purple Rain

1999? interesting. I guess he was in the midst of recording that the summer of 82... I have located a copy I will watch it soon. I do not go out to very many movies in theatres... the next thing I will see (by my own choice) is Star Wars.... I hope to avoid it but I suspect I will get dragged to something before that. (the last few movies I saw in theates that I chose to go were: Logan, Rogue One, Deadpool, TFA, and American Sniper. I have also seen: lego Batman and I think a minions movie?)

Do you know which version of Blade Runner you have? There are a few. I'd suggest the final cut by Ridley Scott. In any case one without the voice-over.

Is it me or do modern films look too shiny, too pristine? Fine if that's what you're aiming for, but some films need a bit of texture and this is one of them.

The original Blade Runner looked so authentic, Deckard down on the grubby streets of LA ... proper noir stuff. This just looks a bit sterile. Hope I'm wrong, guess we'll see...
