UNITED ARAB EMIRATES HAS A PLAN TO COLONIZE MARS WITH 600,000 PEOPLE IN 100 YEARS

The announcement came on February 14th, 2017, during the 5th World Government Summit – which was held this year in Dubai. In the midst of presentations by notaries like Ban-Ki-Moon, Elon Musk, and Barack Obama, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan shared their country’s vision of putting 600,000 humans on the Red Planet by the next century – known as the “Mars 2117 Project”.

We'll get there way before that, if we want to.

Yeah, but they're planning on sending over a half million people to stay. We'll get there first but uh, I don't think we're THAT committed to Mars.

There were bases within the solar system where people lived and worked.

The Fundamental Declarations of the Martian colonies were an important step in the pursuit of individual rights. (TOS: "Court Martial")

In 2105, Jack the Ripper, an entity feeding off pain and fear, killed eight women of the Martian colonies. (TOS: "Wolf in the Fold")

Alpha III was the inhabited third planet in its star system. The planet was the home of an Earth colony. An important piece of Human rights legislation, the Statutes of Alpha III, was written on this planet by the Tribunal of Alpha III. (TOS: "Court Martial")

In 2266, on Exo III, Captain Kirk tested Dr. Korby's android for precise knowledge of his personal history in the presence of Andrea, Nurse Chapel, and Korby: it knew that brother Sam hadn't said he would go to Colony II, but only that he hoped to go there. (TOS: "What Are Little Girls Made Of?")

i'd rather stay here on Earth. but i guess at the rate our population expansion is going, things will get way too crowded unless some of us move out somewhere.

i'm thinking robotic drones will be the first colonizers. and maybe they'll rebel against humankind, like the first Americans rebelled against Great Britain, triggering an interplanetary war...
