What the f*ck is wrong with the Cleveland Cavaliers?

How the hell do you lose to the Pelicans who are without Anthony Davis?

My thoughts:

1) LBJ needs to stop whining in the media about his squad. His griping makes it seem like he
doesn't trust his team, which is still pretty much the same one that defeated the greatest regular
season team of all time last year in the finals.

2) GM David Griffin, if he's going to continue to let LBJ run this team, should seriously consider
trading for Carmelo Anthony then. Get rid of Love, and send Shumpert and Smith back to NY with
some cash and draft picks.

True, but the Cavs have lost like 5 out of their last 8 or something like that. The NBA is not like
the NFL where any team can win on Sunday. US professional basketball is much more predictable
and the Cavs should not be losing to the sorry ass Pelicans who were without their most dominating
player!

Cavs were built to win it all LAST year...other than #23, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love, they have no one on their roster that lends to any sustained organizational excellence.... i mean how long did they think it would be b4 JR Smith self -destructs or Rich Jefferson gets old(er)...after Lebron & Kyrie, they have zero playmakers who can facilitate others...and those 2 are playing too many minutes...Cleveland has to work too hard at the offensive end to get buckets...and they look like at the defensive end, theyre just going through the motions....looks like theyre on cruise control til playoffs...thats a dangerous game tho, if they are...

The Cavs just may be spent from winning it all last season. The roster just isnt that talented without

the big 3 and the Warriors and the Spurs would kick the dog shit out of them in a 7 game finals this season. Hell my Sixers may kick their ass this season before all is said and done. lol

It's a long season. The Cavs will get it together but they aren't winning a championship this season.

This isn't nothing new. LBJ has always been a cry-baby. That's why I saw nothing wrong with Draymond calling him a bitch during the playoffs. lol

LBJ is certainly acting like a wuss right now. I wouldn't call him a bitch as bitches don't come
back down from 3-1 to win rings. He does whine in the press too much, though.

However:

Love for Anthony?

In my opinion, everyone associated with the Knicks should be fired. Every player, every member of team management, even the owner. That franchise needs a completely new blank piece of paper.

It's just ridiculous that the premier basketball team in New York can be so mismanaged.

I just read the Cav's said, Thanks but no thanks to the New York Nicks.

Lebron James has always been a crybaby/week... brotha has never possessed leadership skills. The crying and whining about his team mates is crass and unprofessional; James need to keep that stuff in house. Where they built for a one-off championship... its a miracle they won last year. So, I'm not suprise they are struggling this year. Another thing about James, he doesn't take pressure well... duh, when did he not think the other NBA teams weren't come gunning for the Calvaliers? He been in this postion before? Right? Week...

In the big picture:

- This team has played a LOT of basketball in the last 3 years. The miles catch up with any team that has made numerous deep runs into June.

- LBJ has played into June 6 straight years, and in 1 Olympics during that span. He's played even more. The minutes catch up.

- Just about every NBA team in history with these ingredients, plus injuries, goes through this type of slump.

As to right now, LBJ helped make this bed. He won a title with this team. He wanted Love, and got him, and now realizes in hindsight they need more pieces.

Neither he NOR Griffin could help the fact that Durant joined GS. There's little any contender can do to counter that. Much less a team strapped with 3 max/near-max deals who's spent more on payroll than anyone else in the last year or so.

Counterpoint - LeBron James is a badass. He has three rings and has played in 7 NBA Finals, including the last 6 in a row (taking two different teams and winning with each team). At least 4 of those times, he pretty much carried the entire team on his back. The man is a winner AND a champion.

The Cavs are leading the Eastern Conference but James doesn't feel like they have the team right now to win it all. While the Cavs lead the East, they only have the fourth-best record overall, meaning there are three Western Conference teams with better records. Clearly James is focused/concerned ONLY about winning another title. Which is exactly how winners and champions think.

I'd take LeBron James on my team any day of the week and twice on Sundays. I will always think the world of him for going back to Cleveland. That city and especially their owner trashed James to no end when he left. It took a big man to go back despite all that. He not only did, but he delivered an NBA championship.

I think he can take pressure pretty well.

It's just ridiculous that the premier basketball team in New York can be so mismanaged.

It starts with the owner.....Knicks have been an NBA joke since the Dolans took over in 1999. Even though they went to the Finals that year, it's been nothing but dysfunction since:

Like the Rangers, the Knicks performed abysmally in the early 2000s and have yet to recover, which fans mostly blame on Dolan's management missteps. Although the Knicks made the NBA Finals in 1999, they have not posted a winning season until the 2010-2011 season. Furthermore, the Knicks had not made the playoffs from the 2003-2004 season to the 2010-2011 season, which both ended in first round four game sweeps for the Knicks. Dolan has come under fire from many Knicks' fans for the team's run of consecutive losing seasons from 2001-2002 to 2009-2010. Numerous media[who?] and informal fan polls, including a recent Sports Illustrated poll, have ranked Dolan the worst owner in the NBA.[12] In 2007, NBA Commissioner David Stern criticized Dolan's management of the Knicks, saying "they're not a model of intelligent management."[13][14] One widely criticized decision was to give shooting guard Allan Houston a 6-year, $100 million maximum contract in 2001, when no other team had offered Houston more than $75 million. Houston retired due to injury after just four seasons and with over $40 million remaining on his contract.

In 2003, Dolan hired Isiah Thomas as Team President of Basketball Operations and General Manager to replace embattled executive Scott Layden. Thomas made aggressive moves to re-tool and upgrade the Knicks roster through trades, the NBA Draft, and free agency. Despite the talent Thomas imported, the team did not perform up to expectations and Thomas was often the target of the frustration of Knick fans; Dolan was also on the receiving end of the ire of Knicks' fans for his commitment to Thomas in spite of Thomas' sometimes questionable decisions.

After the 2004-2005 season, the Knicks signed head coach Larry Brown to a 5-year, $50 million contract. After just one (losing) season, Brown was fired and the team bought-out Brown's contract for $18 million. Brown walked away with a total of $28 million for coaching the Knicks for just one year.

After firing Larry Brown, Isiah Thomas assumed the duties of being the head coach of the Knicks. During a staged interview on MSG Network, which is the last time Dolan answered questions from the media, Dolan gave Thomas an ultimatum to show "evident progress" or potentially be fired. In the latter half of the 2006-2007 season, with the Knicks within reach of a playoff spot, Dolan signed Thomas to a multi-year contract extension. The team subsequently fell out of contention and Dolan was castigated in many quarters for his extension of Thomas' contract. The next season, Dolan stripped Thomas of his front office duties because Thomas had taken the Knicks to the playoffs just once during his tenure. New team President Donnie Walsh removed Thomas as head coach upon the conclusion of the season.

Other coaches that also had short-lived tenures as head coaches of the Knicks include Don Chaney (2001–2003) and Lenny Wilkens (2003–2005). Like Thomas and Brown, they remained on the Knicks' payroll following their departure from the bench due to multi-year contracts signed with the owner (and in Chaney's case, 2 separate contract extensions).

In 2007, Dolan was named as a defendant in a sexual harassment lawsuit submitted by a former Knicks executive, Anucha Browne-Sanders. Browne-Sanders accused Dolan of firing her out of spite after she complained about sexual harassment from Isiah Thomas. The court ruled in favor of Brown-Sanders and Dolan had to pay $3 million of the $11 million settlement. MSG was responsible for paying the remainder of the settlement.[15]

In July 2012, Dolan faced criticism for allowing popular Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin to sign with the Houston Rockets without matching their $25.1 million offer.[16]

In February 2015, Dolan responded to a letter from Irving Bierman, a 73-year-old, lifelong Knicks fan, that criticized Dolan's ownership of the Knicks and questioned his leadership with a seething letter of his own, telling the fan to "root for the Nets because the Knicks don't want you" and that Bierman was "a sad person" and probably an "alcoholic maybe".,[17][18][19] Dolan later addressed the issue with the press, but did not apologize, only saying the letter was a case of "tit for tat" and declaring the incident "over".,[20][21] Newly appointed NBA Commissioner Adam Silver did not reprimand or penalize Dolan, but instead further brushed the incident under the rug by calling Dolan a "consummate New Yorker” who received "an unkind email and responded with an unkind email”.

LBJ went OFF on Charles Barkley. This is GREAT:

“I’m not going to let him disrespect my legacy like that,” James told ESPN. “I’m not the one who threw somebody through a window. I never spit on a kid. I never had unpaid debt in Las Vegas. I never said, ‘I’m not a role model.’ I never showed up to All-Star Weekend on Sunday because I was in Vegas all weekend partying.

“All I’ve done for my entire career is represent the NBA the right way. Fourteen years, never got in trouble. Respected the game. Print that.”

Even though LeBron has rabbit ears at times (which I'm sure all great athletes do), I'm so glad he put Charles on blast. These cats get amnesia when they retire. I loved Dwayne Wade's quote:

"Sometimes when guys get on a microphone in front of their face they just talk and talk and talk and forget about their history. We all make that mistake, but especially that guy on TV. He acts like he just walked on water. I like the fact that Bron called him out ... He said there's a new sheriff in town so I'm excited to see what's next."

I remember when Barkley accused LeBron of "championship-hopping" - didn't Charles do that TWICE? Please...

im a Knicks fan, but it was still cool to see Lebron blast back at Charles Barkley... Lebron always had been a little to passive, for him to be so sensitive... if you gonna be as thin-skinned as Lebron, you might as well speak on the perceived slights, and say that shit with your chest, and not hide behind the little passive-aggressive responses he's given his detractors in the past... ever since Lebron screamed on Steph Curry after blocking his shot in the finals last season, seems like LeBron been feeling his own strength...thats that bully mentality that had always been missing earlier in his career, to supplement his immense physical skills...besides, i LOVE beef (pause)... cool

The Cavs have played a ton of basketball inside of 3 years, and their best player has probably played at least 100 games each year (including 1 Olympic cycle) of the 2010's. That is a LOT of basketball.

They're thin, banged up and tired.
