Are their any fans without the above? Lol sorry I don't mean to joke about something quite serious, just my attempt at humor wink
Being serious now, sure. No one gets thru life unscathed, and that leads to the disorders you listed for a lot of folks. May I ask - why do you ask? Do you have a particular question/concern??

I'm just interested cause I've seen lots of folks with diagnoses among Michael Jackson's fans. I'm also diagnosed with some disorders and then there's a list of other symptoms that show I'm at the borderline, but I didn't a get a diagnosis for them. But I was told I'm young and many disorders start around my age, so who knows. Maybe something will develop over time, maybe not.

In fact, one of the reasons I feel deeply in love with Prince is that his songs talk about grief, pain of one's soul, autism, abuse, trauma and other things. They are my go-to list whenever I feel down.

Yep, I agree his music can be healing. It's a good thing he lifts you up when you get down smile Don't fight it lol I'm no professional so my only other "advice" is to perhaps not over-think every situation or issue as that may tend to give them room to grow, maybe? And always be good to yourself!

Are you working on a thesis with mj fans as your experimental group? lol Jokes aside, don't fall into the trap of self-diagnosing if you truly have a condition, a lot of them have similiarites and you know yourself best, so just keep track of your symptoms and talk to a professional about what it is if it's affecting you daily. Having said that, it's good prince's music is uplifting for you, he's pretty awesome and great for that smile

Why did they change the terms? To acknowledge it's the fault of society rather than your mind?

It's been hard these days to be nice to myself. I've been drinking a lot, but when I don't drink, I feel down.

Do not use alcohol as a crutch. If that's how you are coping with feelings of being down, you are on a path to self destruct. Please seek help from a professional or join a 12 step program. You have your whole life ahead of you and a lot to look forward to so don't waste it getting wasted wink hug

Thanks. I've been stressed for the past two weeks and it seems I'll be this way until early January. I have school commitments, job commitments and there's Christmas on top of that and I haven't bought a single gift for anyone yet (meh, I'll just buy everyone socks... or maybe not). Luckily, I have managed to avoid alcohol today because I went on radio, so I had to make myself presentable somehow.

My mama used to always say, there's bad crazy and there's good crazy. When hooking up with someone, it's usually good crazy.

nobody was bullying anyone... nobody was making light of other people's troubles

i have nothing but compassion for anyone struggling

but a little levity isn't a bad thing

depression, anxiety bipolar etc... are indeed genuine... but nothing to be ashamed of... there doesn't have to be a huge heavy weight attached to any discussion of this subject matter

you're the one bringing nastiness to the thread... i suggest you don't say "peace" if you don't mean it

Oh heck yeah, I'm mental as all hell. Been diagnosed as having a few conditions... drool3

And I am being serious. cool

And depending on how this thread plays out, i might speak on my personal experiences, struggles, etc.

What i will say though, is that living(not just existing) with a mental heath issue is one of the hardest(an understatement) things that a person can go through. Doesn't matter if its SAD, or paranoid schizophrenia. The struggle can be spirit destroying.

And don't get me started on some of the medications that are used to treat the symptoms. That's a whole nother can of fukery to deal with.

Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.

You deal with the issue the way you choose, and we'll deal with it the way we choose.

No different than death, everybody handles it differently.

I know plenty of people who are on psych meds and regularly talk about taking their "Happy Pills". I know doctors who refer to psych meds as "Don't Give A Fuck Pills". Adding humor helps deal with it and makes it more acceptable in society, same way those who are physically challenged often joke about their own condition.

Now instead of trolling and hauling off juvenile "yo momma" personal attacks at myself and others, why don't you exert your energy in a more productive manner by bringing something of substance to the table instead of criticizing everyone else.
