Chris Meloni is definitely willing to make a Law & Order: SVU comeback - but don't get yourself too excited yet.
,
The actor - who played SVU's Detective Elliot Stabler for more than 270 episodes - has toldTheWrap that his return would only take place under a very specific set of circumstances.
"From the beginning I've said I'd be more than happy to come back for the last six episodes," he explained.
Meloni added that he has "no idea" if an SVU comeback under those circumstances would actually ever happen.
Meloni departed the NBC procedural back in 2011 after 12 years on the job.
.
He's since starred in Veep, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp and the critically-acclaimed Civil War drama Underground, and has said he has "no regrets" about leaving SVU.
Back in February, NBC officially ordered an 18th season of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
