The Walking Dead Season 7 Introducing 2 Characters Not from the Comics

the walking dead need to bring back the mystery and fear factor. the stuff that made you jump or made you feel stalked. there is no exploration like before. These are parts of the reason season 6 wasn't as good...

http://screenrant.com/walking-dead-season-7-characters-comic-books/

While it’s true that season 6 of AMC’s monster hit The Walking Dead wasn’t quite as well received as season 5 – with Glen’s fake-out non-death and the season ending cliffhanger drawing particularly high amounts of fan scorn – that isn’t likely to stop the the show’s millions of diehard viewers from continuing to tune in every week for each new installment of season 7.

The Walking Dead has always had its ups and downs, but when it fires on all cylinders it can produce some of the most compelling dramatic TV out there. Season 7 of the show will reportedly aim to mix things up even further by introducing two new characters into the mix that aren’t taken from Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman’s comic book source material.

Here’s the skinny, according to Mike Ausiello of TVLine:

The Walking Dead: 2 New Non-Comic Book Characters to Debut in Season 7, Report Says
The show is set to debut a grandmotherly character named Naomi and an optimistic teenager named Jennie, TV Line's Michael Ausiello reports, adding the two do not appear to feature in the comic books.

THAT is Rosita?

Seriously though, there was something about the family connection of the group that made it to Alexandra. The comradere, the bonding. If they focus back on that and bring back the mystery and fear factor, the show can go a good 10 seasons

While there is no official word on when The Walking Dead season 7 will premiere, we can make a VERY educated guess. The show has traditionally premiered the Sunday of New York Comic Con. NYCC 2016 will run from Oct. 6-9, which probably means that season 7 will premiere on Oct. 9, 2016.

eek SPOILER eek SPOILER

this would be a sad outcome. i love maggie's character

Spoiler warning for Season 6 of The Walking Dead, and maybe Season 7, we'll see

In the Season 6 finale of The Walking Dead, new villain Negan ( Jeffrey Dean Morgan) introduced himself by killing a major character with a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire. The episode ended on a cliff-hanger - we know somebody died, but not who. So the hot topic of conversation among fans during the show's summer break is speculating about who was on the receiving end. This week, TVGuide.com will be presenting and prognosticating on the most likely candidates. First up is Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan).

It's probably Maggie.

When we last saw her, Maggie was debilitatingly sick from as-yet-unexplained pregnancy complications. When Negan's 11 potential victims were captured by the Saviors, they were on their way to Hilltop to get medical help for Maggie. She's shaky, immobile, and almost delirious from fever and pain. Even if she isn't killed by Negan, things aren't looking good for her right now.

The reasons why Maggie is the most likely person who died are mostly behind-the-scenes. According to the eagle-eyed obsessives at Spoil the Dead, Lauren Cohan has only been spotted on set once so far during filming for Season 7.

And that was for premiere, which will pick up exactly where the finale left off. Reportedly the show filmed death scenes for everyone to make sure leaks of footage aren't incriminating, so everyone had to be there for that episode. But she's been absent ever since.

If you are Neegan, how do you not take out Rick? It doesn't make sense to leave the leader of the group alive. Would be a bit bummed if it turns out to be Maggie. The Glenn dumpster cop out really left me not giving a shit about his character at all...so I hope it's Glenn that goes down.

well, personally i don't want anyone from our group to die so in my version an off-screen, previously completely unknown character (who was a bad guy to begin with), stumbles into the 'kneeling before negan scenario' all blind drunk and pukes on negan's boots so negan whacks him instead

can't blame Glenn for that lol

I think most of the core group that made it to Alexandria need to remain alive.

That 'family' connection is one of the things that glued the show together.

Once these people start dying off, I don't know how the show could successfully continue

This isn't directly about season 7

But I was just watching some past episodes

I like revisiting past episodes and seeing little things I never noticed.

I watched the episode after they leave Noahs hometown and they run into a bunch of bodies cut in part with the heads still animated and they all had the W on their foreheads. I've seen that scene a few times and never caught that. The Wolves must have over run that town.

Also prior to them going to Terminus. When Rick excommunicates Carol. In that neighborhood they run into the guy and girl trapped in the bathroom. I thought they both got caught by walkers, but I guess it was just the girl. The guy ended up at Terminus, and he was the first one who got his throat slit. I just noticed that too. Rick looked over and recongnized him and he recognized Rick.

O snap, I never noticed it was that guy at Terminus. Been watching the Sunday marathons, will have to look for him when we get to that scene. Some things have bothered me while rewatching (Daryl's very stylized haircut) and some things have been reinforced such as the brutality of some of these scenes and characters. The Governor shooting his own people because they didn't want to fight comes to mind. Also, Lizzy gutting her sister? That was pretty hardcore.

If you think this is hardcore don't read the Novels, which I recommend.

Norman Reedus Says Things Will Get ‘Turned Upside Down’ On ‘The Walking Dead’ Next Season

“It’s a complete change of power.”

08/01/2016 04:58 pm ET | Updated 17 hours ago
Gene Page/AMC

“The Walking Dead” ended its sixth season with the biggest cliffhanger the show has ever seen. Viewers have been wondering since April just who the unlucky victim of the show’s newest villain, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), was. While the Season 7 trailer offered no hints, star Norman Reedus opened up t...ent Weekly and gave them a few details. From the sound of it, viewers will have no chance to catch their breath once the series starts up again in October.

Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon on the AMC series, told EW that Season 7 is a “brand new world” with a “complete change of power.”

“Our whole world has been turned upside down, and that group of people have been fighting to have their feet firmly on the ground and have some sort of direction to live in and some sort of code to live by and moral compass, and they thought they were doing it OK, you know?” he said.

Reedus continued, “It was hard, and they had to go through things all the time, but they were on a path, and now that path has been ripped from their feet, and things that they believe in are completely different now.”

The 47-year-old actor also said that filming the conclusion to the cliffhanger was “exhausting,” which is believable since the show reportedly went to great lengths to keep the identity of Negan’s victim a secret. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show filmed death scenes ...st members in order to ensure there would be no spoilers before the episode aired.

“The Walking Dead” returns Sunday, Oct. 23, at 9 p.m. ET.
