All of the icons are dying; soon there will be no more, and the millenials have produced absolutely nothing but manufactured crap that they eat up. Are legends/icons just not being born anymore? Am I doomed to live in a world filled with only humans and no gods among us? Am I doomed to suffer through mediocrity for all future time? You guys were lucky; you got to live in the age of icons - a cultural Golden Age. But, my future is looking bleak. Feels like the end is nigh.

So what are you wanting to do? Start out with minimal basics and build up from there. And be a good person and be charitable.

It doesn't have to be expensive. If you want to play music, you can start with a second hand acoustic guitar. If you want to get into art, all you need to start is a piece of paper and a pencil.

A program like Logic, Maschine, Ableton Live, etc... are expensive and so is quality recording equipment. Not to mention the social hoops involved once you actually get a decent sound and want to do something more with it.

Look at this, it's all free: www.ubuntustudio.org . Also search for a Linux distribution called "ArtistX" - AFAIK, it was discontinued, but it had an awful lot of audio software on it, and you might be able to find a copy somewhere on the net - all free, of course!
