I didn't like Scarlet Witch in Age of Ultron that much...
But in this movie, I absolutely LOVE her in this!! Thank you Russo Bros! Joss Whedon sucks!

There was pages and pages of discussion for Batman Vs Superman but so far there's been little said about this year's other superhero slugfest. What did you guys think of the movie?
I really liked it. More than I thought I would. I've liked most of the MCU movies up to this point but with the Winter Soldier and now Civil War, I feel that Marvel have moved on from making good superhero movies to very good movies. Robert Downey Jr gives his best performance as Tony Stark/Iron Man yet, the movie manages to feature most of the Avengers and brings new characters Spider-Man and Black Panther into it and it still doesn't feel overstuffed, and Captain America.... Ahh.. Captain America.....

The Bahtmaster has a cool game.Stage left or Stage right.

I had a moment, watching the trailers and seeing the 'sides' charging at each other over the tarmac, thinking: this looks cheesy. It was perhaps a TOO calculated moment. This could be the hot mess I expected the Avengers to be, with too many heroes; too many personalities with all these different requirements to suspend disbelief over varying spectrum. I'm happy to be wrong for a second time. There are many layers and underlying conflicts of interest that make the plot integral. The tarmac fight? True to the MCU, it is entertaining, fun, and somehow, lighthearted (I also love the surprise). Big marks for not destroying a city in this movie. The only negative I have for this film is the sped up fight scenes that occur in the first half. Things moving to fast too register might be the new CGI. Or perhaps I'm just getting old.

I really enjoyed this movie. As a fan of both DC and Marvel, it was great to see these characters brought together on the big screen. Granted, they only paid homage to comic book covers, and did not stay very true to comic book storylines.

Spider-Man was very well done. Being 48yo, I appreciated all the throwback nods, to the 60's/70's era Spider-Man that I grew up with. I would like to see more of the costume details, but based on what I saw, his suit looks pretty slick. Black Panther was cool and I was impressed with how they handled his character. Ant-Man continues to be a BIG surprise, so he was a great addition as well. Captain America and Iron-Man are great and the fight with the Winter Soldier was well choroegraphed.

My only complaint, is that I am amazed the "fans" and "critics" loved it so much. This movie does not hold up against Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. I do not like to compare the two different movie worlds, but since this one copied so much of the BvS story, it's hard not to. The "Zemo" character, was nothing more than a rip of Lex Luthor, manipulating the heroes to fight each other, due to personal loss/gain/fear. All of a sudden, due to backlash from Man of Steel I'm sure, Marvel has decided to make their characters answer for heroic destruction of cities and lives.

I have to give the edge to DC, for having the balls to actually stick to comicbook storylines (Dark Knight Returns, Death of Superman, Injustice Gods Among Us). Captain America: Civil-War did not do this. They flaked out on going towards Captain America's death, from the very comic this movie is titled after. I'm not sure why they did this and how marvel fans are loving all the changes from the comic book to the screen, but I call BS and give them a thumbs down for doing this.

If I block this out and accept the movie for what it is, I thouroughly enjoyed it. I look forward to more future Marvel films including Avengers: Infinity War - Part I, Spider-Man: Homecoming and X-Men: Apocalypse.

Tell me, do you bleed? You will!

I can understand what you mean but as someone who doesn't read comic books, the fact that they strayed from the source material doesn't really bother me. And in fairness, they never pretended that they were adapting the comic for the screen. I remember reading an article in Empire magazine about a year ago where one of the writers said it was only borrowing certain elements from the Civil War comic but their primary interest was keeping it loyal to the other MCU movies. But I'm glad you really enjoyed the movie for what it was. I don't understand this idea that some people will champion everything DC does and shit all over Marvel or vice versa. There's no need to choose sides. Both companies produce good movies and bad movies. I think Dawn of Justice suffered a bit because of this line of thinking. It was not perfect but it's nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be. I really liked it. I absolutely hated the new X-Men movie though. But that's a story for another day.
