Blade Runner Sequel updates

I am actually excited to see another story of the Blade Runner saga.
I hope they keep with the feel of the original. Use some technology from back then to film it.
Sparse communication, and the music all which inspired Prince's 1999 Purple Rain...

Robin Wright Joins ‘Blade Runner’ Sequel in Key Role (EXCLUSIVE)

Robin Wright is in final negotiations to join Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling in Alcon’s “Blade Runner” sequel.

Ford is reprising his role of detective Rick Deckard with “Sicario” helmer Denis Villeneuve directing. The untitled film will bow Jan. 12, 2018.

Sony Pictures Releasing International announced last month that it will distribute in all overseas territories in all media. Alcon has a longstanding domestic output agreement with Warner Bros.

The story, written by Hampton Fancher (co-writer of the original) and Michael Green and based on a story by Fancher and Ridley Scott, continues several decades after the conclusion of the 1982 original — which was set in a dystopian 2019 Los Angeles. It is unknown who Wright will be playing and also unknown if she will be playing a human or droid.

The original film, based on the 1968 Philip K. Dick story “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?,” starred Ford as an ex-police officer tracking down escaped genetically engineered “replicants” who had returned to Earth illegally in order to extend their four-year life spans. In 1993, the film was selected for preservation in the U.S. National Film Registry by the Library of Congress.

Principal photography on the sequel is scheduled to begin in July, with cinematographer Roger Deakins reuniting with Villeneuve on the project...

According to one of the film's producers, Ridley Scott, Harrison Ford will reprise his role as Rick Deckard from Blade Runner (1982). Scott talked about the sequel's story & what involvement Ford will have as he went on to say: "We talked at length about what it could be, and came up with a pretty strong three-act storyline, and it all makes sense in terms of how it relates to the first one. Harrison is very much part of this one, but really it's about finding him; he comes in in the third act."

.

Originally at the early development stage of the project, Ridley Scott was set to take on the directorial duties of the project. By the time the project was getting close for the start of pre-production, Scott announced he would no longer take the helm of the project but would stay on as a producer. Specifics weren't given by Scott on why he dropped out of directing the project. Oddly enough, a report came out in August 2014 that another Ridley Scott sequel, Prometheus 2 (2016), may be getting delayed because Scott planned to helm the Blade Runner sequel after The Martian (2015), which was currently in production at the time. But now, it looks to be the other way around, & Scott's commitment to Prometheus 2 (2016) may have forced him to step away from directing the Blade Runner sequel.

.

Sean Young does not reprise her role as Rachael from Blade Runner (1982). After being very vocal in her reactions to this project, which included a suggestion that fans of the original film should boycott this new one if she was not involved in it, she told The Guardian newspaper: "I saw Ridley a month ago, and not a peep was uttered from his mouth about it, and so I left it alone."

Blade Runner sequel – enduring appeal for 80’s action franchises

http://www.kollytalk.com/...34541.html

The Blade Runner sequel is undoubtedly the biggest, and one of the most hotly-anticipated reboots/ sequels of the 1980’s action franchises.

For those who do not know, the movie will be helmed by Denis Villeneuve, known for films as Sicario and Prisoners. The film will feature Ryan Gosling, who will share screen space with Harrison Ford, reprising his role as replicant-hunting cop Rick Deckard from the 1982 original. The movie will begin production next year.

According to the latest reports, the producers are willing to go bigger and more femme-focused, as they look to follow the success and perhaps outperform revived action franchises as Terminator and Mad Max. Distributors believe that strong female roles in movies as Mad Max: Fury Road, and Terminator Genisys, helped them perform at the box office, over other reboots as The Transporter Refueled, and Robocop.

Benjamina Mirnik-Voges, head of acquisitions at Universum, believes that big action films cost a lot and have a broad appeal, hence, the movies can’t simply be allowed to appeal to the male demographic.

As for the Blade Runner sequel, we hope to find out more about the film in the next few months.

Check Out THOR's Kat Dennings As 'Rachel' In a BLADE RUNNER Inspired Photoshoot

http://www.comicbookmovie...ot-a110465

Kat Dennings, done up as Rachel from Ridley Scott's Blade Runner for a pretty cool series of shots.
Take a look...

Is Dennings looking for a role in the Blade Runner sequel perhaps?
Whatever her reason for posing for these shots, I think you'll agree she definitely looks the part anyway. We're not sure where the pics originated from (we found them at the link below), but if one of you knows, link us in the comments section please.
