That's what I got too. Once you multiply anything by 0, the answer is 0. So whatever comes before that part of the sum is irrelevant. What you're left with is 0 + 1. So the answer is 1.

14+0+1=
14+1= 15

got it thank you! should be calculated as follows:

1 X 2 + 3 x 4 + 5 x 0 + 1 = ???

.

(1 X 2) + (3 x 4) + (5 x 0) + 1 =

(2 + 12) + (0) + (1)

(14) + (1)

Ok, step by step...

1 x 2 = 2

2 + 3 = 5

5 x 4 = 20

20 + 5 = 25

25 x 0 = 0

0 + 1 = 1

Therefore, the answer is 1.

In mathematics and computer programming, the order of operations (or operator precedence) is a collection of rules that define which procedures to perform first in order to evaluate a given mathematical expression.

For example, in mathematics and most computer languages, multiplication precedes addition.[1] Thus, in the expression 2 + 3 × 4, the answer is 14 (not 20).

you don't multiply everything by 0.

Only the 5.

And It doesn't read from left to right.

Ok, step by step... 1 x 2 = 2 2 + 3 = 5 5 x 4 = 20 20 + 5 = 25 25 x 0 = 0 0 + 1 = 1 Therefore, the answer is 1.

It depends on whether you mean the earth's surface, or the entire planet, down to the core. And the human body is made up of mostly water too, right? So do we have to account for the earths population too or am I overthinking the question? razz

good thinking it seems to mean the tottal mass! But I am glad you saw that... i think most would assume surface area and say 70% and are thus not close! it is really less that 1%...

as to water in people (or other living things) I would think that amount was too small to make any difference. But nice thinking!

got any puzzles riddles or whatever?
