NBA: Derek Fisher FIRED as Knicks Coach

http://www.latimes.com/sports/sportsnow ... story.html

Oh happy day! Thibodeau would be my choice, but Knicks will never hire him. He's not one of Phil's guys, he won't take crap from Dolan, and he won't run that stupid triangle.

What is stupid about an offnese that has won 11 titles?

I read about it yesterday and to my knowledge, for I don't keep up with basketball, he sucks as a coach because of inexperience and that karma is coming back on him for messing around with his once good friend's Matt Barnes wife and he's also married, so that hurts her, too.

It's not about the system, but the players. Last I checked, Jordan, Pippen, Shaq & Kobe aren't on the Knicks roster. It ticks me off Phil's only hiring one of his triangle guys. I want Thibs.

Thibs is one dimensional.............and thinks that winning preseason games means something.

You won't win anything with Thibs as your head coach. He coaches every game like it's his last.

I think the real problem is that for two years in a row most players on the NY Knicks roster are too stupid to understand what a triangle is. lol

It just like what Dennis Rodman said back in 2015: It's a freaking triangle! It's not complicated at all.

The only real mistake Phil Jackson made thus far is NOT trading Camelo Anthony out of NYC.

And I'm not joking. That dude will NEVER be a A+ player of a Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, or even Stephen Curry for that matter. In my professional opinion, Camelo Anthony is nothing more than an B- player.

Yes, I say it! nod

Carmelo has a no-trade clause in his contract that Phil agreed to.

Knicks have been a joke for the past 15 years no matter who's in charge.

I don't know about that Gray. Chicago's defense was tenacious with

Thibs. They were the one team in the East that gave the Miami heat

fits with or without Rose. Boston during the Pierce-Garnett-Allen

era were tough defensively when he was an assistant. They consistently

won 50 games with Thibs as coach. I would take him in Philly. No

disrespect to Brett Brown.

Agreed. The thing about the Triangle is that it can be tailored to the dominant player regardless of position and generates openings for shooters. MJ, Pip, Shaq, Kobe and Pau all thrived in it.

So far, the only bright spot in Phil's tenure is Porzingis.

I guarantee you Phil's opting out once the season's over.

The Knicks organization have been dysfunctional for a minute. Hiring an inexperienced rookie coach didn't help matters... Fisher was setup to run before he learned how to walk. I don't think Phil is up to being a head coach again... physically or mentally.

The Eastern Conference Finals twice. Name one other Chicago coach since
Phil Jackson who has gotten them that far. I'll start the timer.

No dude. I wasn't implying they won the East Finals twice especially with them
having to go through the Bron-Wade led Miami Heat. I was saying he took them to the conference finals once or twice and consistently won 50 games often times
with a injury depleted roster.

That isn't an accomplishment in my book.

Thibs is a decent coach but I hightly doubt that you will ever see him get a team to a title with him as a head coach. He is stubborn and extremely limited as a head coach.

Playing in a non-Triangle system, all of those HOFers went to a total of 1 NBA Finals, and won a combined total of one title.

The Triangle maximized team offensive efficiency and individual scoring for those players, each of whom played different positions.

Sure, it's more about Billys and Joes than x's and o's, but the Triangle isn't a stupid offense. Almost every NBA champion needs elite players and coaching, but half of the titles in the last 25 years were won using the Triangle.
