I love a woman with a London accent.

Examined by a lovely Indian doctor, from London, today. I think she said she grew up in South London?

That voice... mushy

I like a man with a real upper class, snobby British accent. Come to think of it, I like that accent on girls too. I absolutely fucking hate most Irish accents though. I'm Irish myself, born and raised in Dublin. But any and all West of Ireland accents really annoys me.

I start rehearsing a new play tonight - my second this season in which I get to do a very plummy British accent. touched

Is there such thing as an 'upper class' accent?

Accents aren't always a pointer to what class you come from. It's why I hate the stereotype that having Northern English accent somehow makes you dumber and poor.

I always meet people who are clearly from up North but try to mask the fact they are from here by putting on some weird faux Southern voice.

I really love Irish accents though, they just sound nice.

Yeah, bad choice of words on my part.
You like Irish accents? Have you ever heard anyone from Cork or Kerry speaking? I find it really difficult to understand what they're saying smile

Originally but it's fairly common throughout London and the southeast aswell. Ya know wha' a mean me old China. It's as much an indication of socioeconomic status as it is location. You're just as likely to hear a posh hipster twat in the east end these days.

I even hear a bit of cockney on the market stalls in Dublin. But that may be just down to some market traders thinking they're Delboy. "Rodney, you plonker" wink

Gosh, we need to go on a date. lol. The Irish accent is lovely. I do not like it to slurred (Kerry), or too course (Northern Ireland), the east coast Louth to Wicklow accent is spot on. I'll be your Hugh Grant, you can be my Andrea Corr haha.

Be careful though, In London you will be toast.

Been there, done that got my heart broken. Twice.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

The morning radio show that I listen to spoke of a story about some British guys that are trekking across the USA, using their English accent to seduce women. And it's working. They've slept their way through multiple states & going strong.

Then listeners called in and some of them did the opposite - went to England and were popular there because of their American accents.

That's so weird of them, though I love the accent. Sometimes I slip up and start having one cause of constantly being around people who grew up there that still have the accent ....feel like such a Madonna for that lol probably lived in south London in a past life lol
