RIP Hendu

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/dave--hendu--henderson-dies-at-57-163604146.html

Former major league outfielder Dave Henderson, who was best remembered for his postseason heroics with the Boston Red Sox during the 1986 ALCS, died Sunday at the age 57. Affectionately nicknamed 'Hendu' by his friends and teammates, Henderson played 14 seasons in Major League Baseball, wearing the uniforms of the Seattle Mariners, Red Sox, San Francisco Giants, Oakland A's and Kansas City Royals.

RIP Hendu pray

Who could ever forget one of the greatest clutch homeruns in baseball history ...

That was the most unbelievable HR I'd ever seen...until Gibby's shot sent my Dodgers on the way to the title in 1988. RIP, Mr. Henderson. Great ballplayer...

Make it so, Number One...

Yeah Gibby's was one for the ages, off my favorite pitcher no less.

And the pitcher who gave up Hendu's homerun, Donnie Moore, was unfairly vilified for it. I wouldn't go so far as to say it led to Moore's suicide less than 3 years later, but I do believe it was a contributing factor.
