Hell, I agree with her but even if I didn't, she's free to say whatever the hell she wants to.

.

As for the policeman and the little heffer in the desk, yes the policeman definitely went overboard but that little defiant heffer was no sweet little angel either. They need to put paddling back in the schools. Although paddling really ain't shit but a little sting but at least it's something rather than just letting those kids run all over the teachers. I'll never forget what my mother told the principal when he called her at work and told her my sister was going to be suspended for three days for skipping classes. She said.... "Don't you dare send that heffer home, that's exactly what she wants!"..... and he said.... "Well, she's been paddled before and that hasn't worked.".....and my mother laughed and said.... "Paddled? Uh....look here, are you wearing a belt? Well, I want to to take it off and BEAT HER ASS!"....He laughed and said.... "Ma'am I'm not allowed to do that?'.... and she said.... "Oh yes you are, I give you my permission! Beat the HELL out of her! I'm tired of her thinking SHE's running things!". Of course, he refused and suspended her for three days and my mama beat that ass each of those three days. lol

dammmmnnnn lol

Freedom of Speech...

If people don't like her or the show don't watch it.
Be careful, this kind of behaviour will go beyond celebs, but your FB pages and speech in general will be attacked.

but the same same speech that allowes her to spout off allows people to call her out and to call to have her fired. And unless she is being threated to being arrested it is not really a free speech issue.

And people get fired all the time for stuff they say on social media.

That's why I'm saying people calling for her to be fired for her VIEW better watch out
Because this BS will go too far and "you" (not you) but people always calling for censorship on things they don't like might find themselves on the receiving end of it one day.

I don't understand the logic in the petition. Whether you agree with her or not, isn't this the whole purpose of the show itself, "The View"? If you don't agree (as others here have already said) then don't watch the show, plain and simple. Folks these days don't know how to agree to disagree and move on.

Personally, I don't think the opinions that she's given so far have been a big deal. The whole "ghetto name" situation...that's actually true. I've seen employers actually skip over applications with names that they couldn't pronounce...this DESPITE the candidates work experience and education earned. It's not right, but it does, in fact, happen. The whole girl not leaving the classroom thing, umm most kids these days are more bolder and defiant than ever. No, I don't agree with the extent of the force used to get her out of the classroom by the cop/security officer and I do agree with him getting fired but kids need to learn how to deal with authority and who better to teach them than their parents. Otherwise, that lesson is learned from either the streets or reality television.

and by take care of it I mean a parent conference or suspension or whatever the school board/district has said they can do.

Meanwhile, the class is disrupted by the kid talking on the phone and the other, rule-abiding kids have their education destroyed for a day. Great plan.

what was the bigger disruption? her sitting there or the physical altercation that took place? and from what i heard she had put her phone away and was just sitting there. Some times it is best to wait them out and not cause it to escalate: as demonstrated in this case.

Did you watch the video? I'm not sure that the altercation was the bigger disruption. If you observe the students in the classroom during the physical altercation, you'll see that only ONE student flinched for one second and that was the student at the desk behind the girl being man handled. She looked up (to be sure that the desk didn't hit her) and then continued doing her work. If you look at all the other students around, they barely looked up, they all were looking at their laptops. It was as if it was just a "normal day" and that these occurances happen all the time. neutral

Once again an over the top reaction to something ( a young woman refusing to go to the Principle office, for texting in class) that could have all gone horribly wrong. That young woman could have injured her back, neck, or suffered a head injury. Nobody life was in jeopardy, the young woman wasn't a danger to herself, classmates, or school administrators. IF, that young woman had been seriously injured could anyone argue the police officers actions, violent actions were justified? I'd think not.

I asked my sister-in-law -who was a princple in Gary IN - for over 35 years how did they (the protocol) handled obstinate children. Her reply, "That young woman would have had to move sooner or later... changing classes, lunch , restroom, or school ending for the day." She would have been informed , a letter grade of F would be given for all classes missed that day. When she was leaving to go home, a suspension slip would have been handed to her: Her parents would have been informed why their daughter had been suspened from school. Her parents would have been told she could return to school after a princple / teacher conference had been held.

Once again who had the most to lose? The dumbass officer is now unemployed, he's lost his pension, and he lost his severance pay. More than likely his employer and the school system will be sued, its been my experience cases like these, are settled out of court.

Another thing...

This officer was fired because he didn't follow the rules or his training, What the fuck is this, police officers get to beat the shit out of people just because everyone didn't snap to it when told? That's a slipper slope in a country that known to beat, kill people of color with little provocation. Secondly, does anyone think this young woman's attitude or behavior is an anomaly? This type of behavior and worse happens everyday, Mon-Friday in US schools. Are the police suppose to have the power to punch, pull and/or throw a students for refusing to go to the school's main office?

We've had several cases this year were parents have had their children taken away from them, after they spanked or locked a kid out of the house. The very same people who justify the actions of this police officer... are the same folks (including the justice system) who are up-in-arems when parents discipline their children. confused

This silly ass hefa' was wrong as two left shoes. I suspect she was silly enough to go "there" because she knew her parents wouldn't do shit. I may be wrong but I doubt. I think Graycap, Phunkdaddy, VainAndy, and countless other on the org grew up in a time when it was 100 % guaranteed ass whoopin' if a teacher ever had to call home. But welcome to the generation of parents who have a deer in headlights attitude. Parents should get that straight way before a child even steps on to school grounds.People have accused teachers of not doing shit, when in fact they've taken on the roles of being babysitters, giving "the talk" (sex education), teaching manners, and being upaid and untrained psychiatrist / social workers.

Kudos to the Chief Of Police in this matter. I agree the police also need to be policed, pull out your phones and record. By the same token, teachers should be able pull out their phones to record children acting like fucking idiots. So, all of this "what my child wouldn't do" or that's not what my child said what happened, would cease

You are exactly right. I know that Board of Education paddle very well. lol
Then my mom would tighten my ass up when I got home or put me on punishment.
I'm from Columbia SC where the incident took place. She seemed to have acted out
due to the loss of her mother and grandmother in a short time frame. There are some bad ass disrespectful high school kids these days so let's not get that twisted. Word is that wasn't the
first incident with this officer at the school and has pending lawsuits.

You got that right. And first of all, cell phones should not even be allowed in the schools by the students. True enough, there are no pay phones anymore these days and an emergency could arise, but there is a phone in the principal's office they can use in case of an emergency.

.

Hell, when I was in school, they didn't even have pay phones on the premises and that was for a reason. It was to stop students from easily trying to "play sick" and go home. Believe me, before you even got a chance to call home, the teacher was going to quiz the hell out of you first before letting you go to the office and use the phone. Then, the secretary was going to quiz the hell out of you, and then the actual principal was going to quiz the hell out of you. Believe me, it was it a hassle from hell to try to play sick and go home so you thought long and hard about it before you even tried it. And those were the easy people to fool. And once I actually finally got on the phone with my mother, the coversation went like this.....

.

Andy: Mama, I need to go home, I'm sick.

Mama: Well hell, what's wrong with you now.

Andy: My head hurts?

Mama: Your damn head hurts? Well, take some damn asprin!

Andy: I don't have any.

Mama: Well, ask the teacher if she has any.

Andy: She doesn't.

Mama: Well, ask the other teachers, the secretary, the principal, the janitors, the cafeteria workers. Somebody in that damn school has got some damn aspirin they can give you. Hell, get the principal to make a damn announcement over the loud speaker and find you some aspirin! I'm not coming up there!

Andy: Look, can you just come up here and check me out of school and take me home (a parent had to actually physically come up to the school and sign you out before you could leave).

Mama: If I come up there, not only are you gonna have a head ache, but you're gonna have an ASS ache too! Now you get your damn ass back to class and don't be calling me at work no more with a bunch of bullshit like this!

.

And when she got home that evening, she had stopped at the drug store and picked up a bottle of aspirin. She handed it to me and said sarcastically.... "Now, you take this whole bottle of aspirin to school with you tomorrow and keep it in your damn locker for the future occassions when you might get one of these mysterious headaches.

.

falloff Mama did not play! And the schools didn't play either. Hell, that's why we had much more respect for people than these little spoiled brats have these days.

.

.

.

Back in the day Most Teachers would let the student sit there while the Admin called their Parents...End of story...You NEVER call the Officer if the student is not violent or threatening the class...Bottom line,....The Teacher, The Assistant Principal and the Officer should be fired...

And the parent or guardian would have filed an $800 lawsuit claiming the phone was damaged. And of course they would have tacked on $4200 for pain and sufferring because the brat was so emotionally devastated by her phone being damaged.
