John Goodman Joins Cast Of ‘

EXCLUSIVE: John Goodman has joined the cast of Legendary PicturesKong: Skull Island which is being directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts from a script by John Gatins and Max Borenstein (Godzilla). He is taking the role of Randa, a government official who leads an expedition. The cast now includes Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson (Room), Samuel L. Jackson and John C. Reilly. The project is expected to go before the cameras this fall.

The story is about a man (Hiddleston) who travels to the mythical island and home of the king of the apes. A team of explorers venture inside what they find to be a treacherous island. The story is said to honor the King Kong lore but in a different time period. This project has been a priority for Legendary Pictures. Producing are Legendary’s John Jashni and Thomas Tull as well as Mary Parent.

Goodman, whose latest film work includes Trumbo, Going Under, Love The Coopers and Valencia, is repped by Gersh.

Here's The One Massive Problem With The Godzilla Vs. Kong Plans

It’s all very well bringing a swathe of movie monsters together in one place for an almighty dust up, but has Legendary Pictures ignored one rather huge problem?

The production giant has just announced its plans to follow up ‘Godzilla 2’ in 2018, with 'Godzilla Vs. Kong’ in 2020.

The new, rebooted incarnation of the sizeable ape will be first introduced in 'Kong: Skull Island’, due for 2017.

And then Legendary will bring the whole lot together – but seemingly ignoring the fact that traditionally King Kong is barely bigger than a T-Rex at about 20 feet tall.

As this infographic helpfully shows, even ‘Ghostbusters’ Mr Stay Puft is bigger than Kong, who might be big for an ape, but in movie monster terms is something of a tiddler.

Meanwhile, Godzilla is around the 160 feet mark - doesn’t sound like a fair fight to us.

Of course, there’s a way around it, involving making Kong far bigger than he’s ever been in the past, which will perhaps be set up on the mysterious Skull Island.

Yes, I used to watch King Kong vs Godzilla, back in the day. The funniest part in watching it is when King Kong would take Godzilla by the tail and swing him around and around and around and then drop him to the ground or he would go flying lol
