San Diego's rush hour traffic is just as bad as LA's...the difference is that you can drive thru LA at 10pm and still be stuck in traffic. It's never ending! At least in San Diego we know that it's gonna be rough from 7am-9am, and from 3:30p-6:30p. Other than that, we're good!

The thing that gets me is...why the hell can't anyone in San Diego drive in the rain? I know it never rains, but come on...slow the frak down! As soon as the ground is wet you have an accident on every freeway.

Yeah we get rush hour traffic at rush hour, that's it. Not on a Sunday afternoon., that's madness. Well that's not really true anymore.

Can't answer the rain question, denial maybe, you know the way of thinking, if you don't claim it, it does not exist. It never rains here, so that wet stuff falling from the sky doesn't exist. shrug

I had to bite the bullet and rent a room until I get acquainted with SD. I'm living in Escondido and working in La Jolla. It's a very fun drive and I enjoy all the lovely traffic on the 78, 15, 56, and 5....yes that is sarcasm but it's positive sarcasm because I'll take the traffic over snow anyday of the week. The freeways here are crazy gigantic! As much as it costs to rent apartments here, I might as well just rent to own a house especially since I don't plan on leaving. I think I'm in my forever home. cloud9 Thanks everyone for all the advice and I'd love to meet up at some point for a SD Org party. A little debauchery never hurt nobody evillol

Hope you find a place you can settle into soon. Yes, it cost to be here that is no joke. With the exception of this weird viscious heat we've been having it stays pretty mild here. Seasons? What seasons? We know nothing of these stinking seasons?

I keep hearing folks complain about the traffic, yes there is some, but I guess my time spent in LA many, many, many years ago let me know what traffic really was, what we get here is small pendence to me. But I'll admit it is slowly getting more crowded so maybe it's gotten pretty bad and I've gotten use to it. Still ain't like LA was those many years ago though.

People around here are like cats always wandering off in different directions, trying to round them up for an event takes some serious manuvering skills.

Yeah this heat is getting to me. I guess not so much the heat, but the humidity. I used to live in Fresno and it gets hot as hell out there. But its pretty much a dry heat. Concerning dry heat vs humid heat. I used to think that it didn't matter much. Boy was i wrong. I think id take a 100 degree dry heat, as oppose to a 90 degree humid heat, any day.

Anyway, @estelle81. Good luck on the apartment search. Even though apartments are somewhat high out here. There's enough areas to where im pretty sure that you'll find something decent, that's within your budget.

Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.

Humidity is the worse. With it lasting on into the night no break from sticky hot. I don't think we've gotten our Santa Anas yet, which is supposed to be dry heat, but this year's weather has been very bizarre so I don't know what to expect at this point.

lol One person told me that San Diegans like to avoid the sun so maybe a get together once the heat dies down will be possible. I'm really enjoying myself despite not having my own personal space at the moment. Traffic is definitely not the worst I've lived in at all. So far everything is pretty awesome biggrin

I was born and raised in Louisiana. That humidity makes you wonder why anyone there even bothers wearing clothes anymore...maybe because they stick to you and you just accept that what used to be just a shirt has now become a second skin. Everyone keeps telling me that it's never usually this hot here so that makes me super excited until I remember what everyone on Long Island used to say about the winters. The four years that I lived there we had snow storms every winter - the worst giving us 33 inches of snow....I'm just gonna say that those Long Islanders lied to me to try to keep me there which was an epic fail on their part. lol Again, I'll take this weather over being trapped in my house for 3 days because those high NY taxes don't mean the plows will show up in a timely manner.

I think everybody's weather is wacky. Last winter there was hardly any rain, no storms, but the storms showed up during the spring and summer this year, which is unusual. Expect a wet winter this time around though. Well, wet for us, not Seattle wet.

The Sun isn't a problem except when it's attacking you, it did that a couple of times to me this year. Had to run back in the house and hid under the bed until it went down.

I know nothing about snow beyond, it's that stuff that falls in the mountains, love looking at it covering the mountain tops as I'm cruising down the 5 or 15 off to who knows where, it's beautiful there in the distance. I visited it once or twice, found it to be a curious thing, it's kind of cold you know, then got bored and left it right where it was.

If you haven't notice we lost a few SD orgers over just a course of a few weeks, who knows where they wandered off to. Told you, cats.

lol The rainy days mixed in with the scolding hot days got everyone a little confused. Snow is very nice when it's far from me.

Indeed I do. I'll have to make a trip back to NYC...when it's not cold.
