workplace radio torture

i have quite a large colllection of cds which i play all the time at home,so you could say that i am a

music fan but what i'm not too keen on is being forced to listen to non-stop music which i don't really

like,it wouldn't be so bad if they changed the stations now and again but its the same stuff every day,we have a station on called heart fm and day after day its the same stuff,if you say that you don't

like it you get classed as a killjoy,of course this is just my opinion but i think that forcing people to

listen to music should be against the law.

The CIA have admitted using music as a form of torture so I feel for you (especially as I know Heart FM) but I quite like some background noise myself. Is it not possible they could change the station now and again?

It´s annoying regardless of the place, whether it is the workplace or the gym or the supermarket.

They play the same shit all day long, the same 10 songs or so, with annoying radio hosts with stupid jokes.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Then you get a set of earplugs (so you have silence) or headphones (so you have your own music). Otherwise, your choice is to a) deal with it or b) get a different job.

Everyone here gets sick of the same songs, so we can ultimately agree on changing the station now and then.

I get tired of songs that enter the playlist and never seem to LEAVE! Especially Canadian content. If there is even a sniff of a "hit", it can stay on for months, just because it represents Canadian artists.

When I first moved to chicago I waited tables at a Deli which played christmas music from the friday after Thanksgiving to a week after New years. It drove the staff crazy.

I listen to jazz all day at my desk (Duke, Artie, Django, Sidney) sometimes a little instrumental RJD2 or Pete Rock, a little bump to get me over the hump. Once I worked in an office that did the sports talk all day and thats aces if you like sports, otherwise it feels similar to listening to someone speaking in Korean all day. Pop radio and classic rock is nice but toooooo distracting.

Christmas music can get tiresome for anyone with piped-in radio.

American Thanksgiving isn't too early. razz

I used to work in an office that pumped music though out. It was either country or classic rock, which is painful to me. Unlike most who had cubicles, I had a proper office that gave me an option to turn off the music. I was grateful for that!

Yeah, it's pretty bad and they get so much play in Canada. I was having lunch at work with a couple coworkers one day and the band asked if they could join us. That Jacob dude is just as obnoxious in person, like nauseatingly obnoxious. The guitarist, Dave was pretty cool, though.
