Had I had a remote in my hand the fast forward function would have saved me and hour of my life.

Entertaining for a bit but way too long.

Questions...

The chlorophyll that Stark drinks/drank, one, I thought he didn't have to drink it anymore, or was that chlorophyll he whipped up in the blender in the first place during (after) the party? Two, if it was, he's making everybody else drink it too (Thor needs chlorophyll??)? How serious of an anti-oxidant is it suppose to be?

There wasn't that fall over and laugh until your sides hurt moment that the first one had, but it had plenty of funny so I still loved it. Even was sitting by the ginormous speakers and I'm not deaf.

He was done with that by the end of Iron Man II. I assume it's something else.

I was disappointed. Felt like one big marketing campaign.

Over the top (and poor) CGI to get fan boy shots – Check

New female teen lead to create new fans – Check

New Asian character for Chinese market – Check
Eastern European Market setting - Check

New potential sub set for spin off – Check

Romance for stereotypical female interest – Check

Worse of all...Lets send Thor off to ‘think’ about his dream, rather than help the humans battle their biggest ever foe, who, despite controlling all computers, needs to escape in a truck on a crowded freeway.

Result, the now obligatory ‘Fast and Furious’ car chase action scene.

Audience perception depends a great deal on their awareness of what Marvel is doing with these films & the universe they’ve been building over multiple films.

Yes, while the opening sequence was very well choreographed, some of the CGI was poorly rendered, & perhaps intentionally cheesy. It normalized as the film progressed. What does always frustrate me about these big budget films is the number of effects houses that work on them. Most people don’t stay for the credits, or at least beyond the scene that plays once the credits roll, but beyond just ILM, there were multiple special effects shops working on this movie. Whether to meet deadlines or to handle different aspects of the production, I don’t know, but it does make it harder to say “That particular element looked awful because of Company X.”

The Scarlet Witch has been around since 1964 – she’s hardly new. And what’s wrong with the addition of more gender diversity to their roster?

And a new Asian character? So what? The film took place on earth. She plays a scientist. Female Asian scientists are not unheard of on this planet.

What’s wrong with Eastern Europe? The Avengers can’t be limited to NYC. The twins’ backstory has them coming from that country. They were also in Africa, which will set up the Black Panther’s introduction.

If you think of each of these new Avengers as “replacements for the core cast, the Scarlet Witch is clearly the Hulk, bringing the power & devastation, albeit in a significantly different way. Falcon is Hawkeye, War Machine is Iron Man & Vision is Thor. However, we haven’t seen the last of any of the original characters.

Stereotypical female interest? Black Widow is another character with a very long history in the Marvel universe & just like any of the male heroes, has connections with any number of suitors. Why does that make her romantic interests stereotypical? She’s also an attractive woman in the middle of a sausage fest, so perhaps just maybe there’d be one pig that finds a blanket?

Thor's absence was explained, although probably better in scenes that were cut away. He's obviously the only character aware of the importance of the infinity stones & their growing significance. And his leaving earth at the end of the film will likely launch him directly into the action of Thor 3, whenever that's due for release.

These movies are very much tied to each other. That’s obvious & the intricacies are not always understood or appreciated, because the payoff isn’t immediate. A few months back, Marvel announced its plans for films through 2019. Characters & plotlines will continue to be introduced, overlap & spawn new storylines, just as they have for decades in paper form. This shouldn’t surprise anyone who has ever picked up a comic book.

Hell, I would have been perfectly happy to watch Thor read the phone book for two hours...there should be a law against a man that fine, lol

Anyhoo, I actually liked this movie better than the first Avengers because I thought the story line was better although the dialog in these flicks always leaves a lot to be desired.

It was also rather long with a bit too much destruction porn for my liking. The gags were heap big funny though. Am I the only one who thought that Ultron's consciousness was Stark's evil twin/alter ego run amok?

It made for a fun mother's day, with our Princey putting the icing on the cake. My sons asked if I wanted to go for dinner after the movie and I said "heck no, Prince is coming on at 8 o clock....I'll cook!

So I cooked and we're going to dinner on Friday, lol

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

You should see the trailer for vacation 2015 movie they strapped a big ass Porn dick on him(thor aka Chris) and pranced him around-it's funny as hell. So, is the trailer. I think the remake looks awesome.

As for the movie, it was entertaining much better than any transformers movie.

I do know the wider story, but of course there are multiple versions in the comics over the years.

But that doesn't take away from the fact that (to me) this felt poorly contsructed. It looked to tick all the marketing boxes.

You can explain away why Thor needed to go away and 'Think' and miss out on the action to stop the biggest threat to the world, but it was a poor plot line to simply get a truck chase in.

There is a danger, than in trying to make sure they stay faithful but marketable, they will forego plot to tie the films and spin offs together.

Guardians and Winter Soldier were fantastic, because they didn't feel like they were teeing you up for 10 years of sales. Ultron failed in that respect.

^I don't disagree with SquirrelMeat. I think the "Phase" model of Marvel's moviemaking will eventually show some strains. The Cap-Am films look to be the strongest of the vehicles.

I enjoyed Age of Ultron, but I don't expect There Will Be Blood from flying men in metal suits, sentient robots, demigods and green behemoths.

I do wonder, however, whether the Star Wars' franchise, which seems to be going back to its earthy roots, will influence the way future Marvel films are made.

Both movies are action, both rely on bad vs good. One just does it better. IMO
