Weird Casting (Aaron Taylor-Johnson & Elizabeth Olsen)

Am I the only one who thinks it's a little "weird" that in GODZILLA they were cast as husband & wife...

...and in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON they are cast as brother & sister...?

question

I mean, I get it...they're actors, they are playing roles.
But they are starring together in two high-profile sci-fi flicks within a few years of each other, and I'm finding it hard to NOT see them together in the "Godzilla" role.

shrug

What say you...?

I've never seen Godzilla so I don't have your problem.

But in the bigger sense of associating actors with their previous roles (like "How can Captain America be the same guy as the Human Torch?" sticking with superhero movies), if the actors are good enough then they can make me forget about any odd casting I may question initially.

I felt that way about these 2. First they were in love, then they were brother and sister in the next movie. I couldn't see her with the other guy afterwards. Later, I got over it and it was okay.

If you read the Ultimates line of comic / trade-paperbacks (Ultimates 3 in particular), which is roughly what The Avengers movies are based on, you'll see that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are VERY close indeed for brother and sister eek

It's true, they were reimagined as creepy siblings in that story.

That whole universe was a little wonky. It was revealed mutants were the result of a man-made virus and not a product of nature at all.

Oh is that Mr Darcy's name? lol I keep forgetting his name. I thought it was Matthew something. But I recognized him instantly even with that mustache on. His eyes and his voice and I knew it was him.

Yeah, it was pretty creepy. Was quite funny when Captain America got his knickers in a twist about them kissing..."Wouldn't have happened in my day" biggrin

Weird casting indeed but for different reasons. I'd always thought of the Scarlet Witch as being late, late 20's or mid thirty's. Plus I hate her costume or lack of a costume.

Best/worst Ultimate Captain America line was when a villain tells him to surrender and he goes ape-shit and yells, "you think this letter on my head stands for France?"

Yeah, I remember reading that thinking it was both the best Cap line I've ever read or the worst! lol

KEY WORD: twincest! nod

At least the Marvel Universe & Ultimate Marvel Universe agrees in one accord that the Scarlet Witch does have issues. In one universe, her first and only husband was a robot (Vision) and in the other universe, her twin brother (Quicksilver) was her lover.
