Mad Men - the final episodes

The premiere this past Sunday was excellent. 70s porn mustaches have finally made their appearance, hah.

I made playlists for the entire series featuring almost all the songs played during each season:

Season One

Season Two

Season Three

Season Four

Season Five

Season Six

Season Seven (Part 1)

There were good comedic bits this week. I thought Megan's mum getting Roger to pay the movers to steal all of Don's furniture was very funny. And while I love the idea of her story ending with running away with Roger, I know that is totally not a happily ever after scenario.

Also very funny was the "love triangle" between Peggy, Stan and Pima (nice guest appearance by Mimi Rogers).

Harry is slime.

The only part funnier than Don's apt was Betty going back to get her masters in psychology.

A masters in child psychology would benefit her the most.

Lee Garner, Jr used to stroke it while thinking of Don? eek lol

Poor Glen. At least he will always have the memory of seeing Betty pee.

Sally delivered in this episode. "Betty this conversation is late.....and so am I."

I have a strange fascination with this show. In the last episode the Real Estate agent was a real handful, lol!

Big bomb dropped last night, brought back memories of my own experiences.

Loved how the agency just stopped giving a shit what the leaders had to say.

Loved last night's episode. It's starting to tie in nicely...but I'm getting sad it's the end! This show has been part of my life since 2009 (got a late start).

This season Don has lost his wife, $1 million, his apartment and now his firm. At this rate, the series will end with him not having a penny to his Don Draper name and forced to go back to being Dick Whitman.

Having worked for McCann-Erickson for a short time, I find this season to be particularly poignant.

Roger and Marie still together! woot!

Oh and just for the true fans the actor who played Lane directed the episode. Making Pete hitting the guy a bit more fun.

I saw that in the opening credits, but didn't make the connection to the boxing epsiode a few years ago, hah. This series is so smart.

Joan will be fine, she took her rolodex for a reason. biggrin The last scene with Peggy dangling a cig out of her mouth with that octupus wood cutting was just a BOSS move.

I loved that last scene with Peggy! I did read a few reviews on it where they thought it was tacky....I don't think so at all!

Peggy roller skating to Roger's organ playing was one of the best visuals of the season.

Even if the entire episode sucked, it would have still gotten a thumbs up rating from me for including Bowie's "Space Oddity" as a backdrop for Don venturing out into the unknown.

It's distressing that this show is so close to its end & seems so far from winding down.

Right????

I keep thinking Don is going to jump out a window and become the cartoon man from the opening credits.

thumbs up!

There's a cinematography thing with this show (along with EVERYTHING else) that is mezmorizing for me. Peggy rollerskating was the moment in that last episode.

I can't wait to see what this group of people work on next, they've got a great groove as a team who make televison at the next level. Also, this is the only positive I can muster because I'm already missing this show.

Don told her to "knock em' dead"....I guess he meant literally. I can't believe they are killing her off this way!!! I guess Don's future will be raising his kids now...

Betty haters may be cheering, but I thought the way her story ends was a bit cruel.

At least Pete was able to find some happiness reuniting with Trudy (who has always been one of my favorites on the show). Pete, please do the viewers a favor and wait until after the series finale to mess this up.

Regulars are making their exits one by one. We're left with just Don, Peggy and Roger for the final episode.

I think next week's episode will open at Roger's funeral. Betty will have already passed. Basically I think Joan will get a brief scene, maybe Sally and the rest will be mainly Don and Peggy, though I think Peggy will basically settling in at Mcann like it has been previously stated. I don't think we will get a real conclusion with Don i.e death or anything like that. Basically I see him ending up in either California or Hawaii again at the end still searching always seaching.
