Unwanted recurring dreams

Have you guys ever had dreams about people that you didn't really care for...but in your dream they are revealing feelings that they have a crush on you? In particular, a co-worker. In reality, I'm cordial with this guy at work, but definitely not interested in him...yet I keep having these dreams that he's interested in me. Each time I have the dream, it's a bit more intense. For instance, the first dream was him just telling me how he felt..apparently I had accepted a new position in a different department and he felt the need to tell me this. The next two dreams were similar, except then he asking me out. In the dream last night, he actually kissed me. Urgh. I don't think about this guy at all, none whatsoever. So what does this mean? Perhaps there's something going on my subscious state but its a little unnerving. I get to work today and now I feel funny when I see him.

Thoughts?

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Not about the topic and not a recurring dream for me, but anyone find it freaky if you have a dream and old friends from completely different time periods occupy the same space LOL.

Like my old friend from down the road when I was 10 hanging out with a completed unrelated friend from a different part of my life at age 20? I guess this means I miss my old friends?

Also, are ur old friends still that same age u last saw them, they must be right? This has only happened occasionally to me but it's kinda freaky LOL.

Also, where are the mirrors man? Iam glad there ain't any LOL, but still?

I can't really speak on the specifics of you dreams, except to say that there are probably some subconscious things going on. Maybe something about this person reminds you of someone else, or is a characteristic that's appealing to you(in a general way). It could be something as simple as the way the person walks, the shape of his nose, the way he chews his food, a shirt that he wears, etc.

The subconscious is a powerful thing, and from my experiences, can pick up on the most seemingly insignificant things. And once that stuff starts getting processed by the brain and spit out(in dreams), all kinds of bizarre images and scenarios can happen.

As for my personal experiences. Two types of dreams come to mind.

I've mentioned this on here before. When i was about 16, i accidentally shot myself in the thigh with a gun. I guess that experience was so traumatic that even to this day, when i have a dream involving shooting a gun, i am physically unable to shoot it. It could be a war dream, a dream where I'm being threatened by a criminal, a gang banger, or someone else who has a gun, and i have one as well. It don't matter. My body wont let me pull the trigger. I've had dreams where Ill spend minutes trying to fire a gun, panicked because i can't. And as i mentioned, I've had these dreams for over 30 years.

Crazy.

The other dreams revolve around this person that i used to(and maybe still do)have feelings for. The thing is this person is someone who, for moral reasons, me having a relationship with, would probably be frowned upon.

Anyway in my conscious life, i don't really think about this person much anymore. But in my subconscious, after a number of years of not having these dreams, I'm starting to have new ones about her. I can pinpoint the time that i started having new dreams, and looking back, it was around the time that something seemingly insignificant happened. Now i realise though that subconsciously, it triggered something, and started the dreams all over again.

Regardless of the circumstances, unwanted recurring dreams can be frustrating. No doubt.
