I don't know how many of you are Discworld readers, but even though I knew this was coming, it's pretty sad. I've taken care of enough people going through Alzheimer's (I used to work as a geriatric nursing aid), and I don't like the idea of anyone going far along that road, but the actual definite ending of his mind and the world it created is still a palpable loss--even at my distance from it.
