If I had a shed and a pasture, I'd have one now. People in cities who try to keep them in apartments are idiots and don't know anything about goats. I don't care if they're miniature; they ain't dogs or cats.

I just heard on tv
2015 is the Year of the Sheep according to Chinese zodiac.
Sheep (goat, or ram) is among the animals that people like most.

I was thinking maybe I won't have to pay someone to do my yard for me anymore. The grass gets tall!!!! A goat would be able to keep things under control. Plus it might head butt the darned crazy neighbors if they ever hop the fence again.

i'd love to have a herd of goats. i read that they're really playful and smart and hard to contain, able to escape most enclosures. they need a lot of space and at least a few other goats. i don't think my neighbors would take kindly to a herd of goats where i live right now but if i could i'd do it. imagine the laughs just from watching them bop around

^ once upon a time my cousin had a hobby farm with llamas and alpacas. on a visit to her farm, i met with some llamas.

now mind you i was prepared for the encounter. i was super careful not to make any sudden moves as i approached their enclosure since i figured that, like deer, they would probably be very shy.

i thought about how i would need to move slowly so as not to startle them and reminded myself not to make any loud noises and etc.

to my surprise the llamas were not at all shy. within seconds of entering their space i found myself surrounded by llamas, one in each of the four directions, all facing me. eek

taller than me, they were like a crowd of very curious furry people who leaned in, tasted my hair, nibbled my sweatshirt, licked my face and moved closer and closer until *i* was the one backing away, suddenly bolting for the door.... falloff

It's their nature... lol Some people in states like California rent them out to cities and private parties to graze areas subject to fire...because they eat all the hazardous growth that cause fires.

It doesn't hurt the goat to graze what is natural; it's only when people give them what isn't natural to their natures to eat that it becomes a problem for goats. As in some people... razz lol

lol lol lol Okay my sides hurt. That's too funny. They found a new toy. No I understand shyness is not a problem for them. I love their eyelashes.
