I watched most of “The Adjustment Bureau” Sunday morning, while getting ready for Easter brunch. Well, I have to say – TNT sure picked a sublime Easter movie for Easter morning!

The Bible says that everything we will do in our life is written in a book, and that God knows what is in that book. He knew us before we were formed in our mother’s womb.

This movie is based on that premise, except it has Men With Magic Hats. I wonder if any consideration was given to using Men Without Hats songs in the soundtrack? “Day After Day” would fit, and if we threw in some Men With Magic Hats that had Australian accents, “I Come From a Land Down Under” would have been awesome, too! Oh wait – that is Men At Work. Bummer. I guess there was no place in this movie for “The Safety Dance”, altough I missed the first 30 minutes so maybe there was a scene with dwarves and hot chicks running around in midevil clothes. Somebody fill me in if there was, I’ll go find this thing on NetFlix and watch that scene.

Matt Damon is some politician that makes a dandy speech after meeting a semi-beautiful woman in the bathroom and, of course, falling instantly and totally in love with her. So much in love that, if I was paying attention while dressing, he quits Congress and goes to work for an investment bank. Also, he spends three years looking for this chick and what do you know? He runs into her on the bus! However, little does he know the guy running after the bus is a Black Man In A Magic Hat who is chasing him.

Now things begin to get somewhat murky. See, the Black Man In A Magic Hat is trying to keep Matt Damon from meeting the semi-beautiful woman but fails somehow – even though he’s one of the Guys that knows everything before it happens. I think. But Matt Damon meets the semi-beautiful woman, gets her number, and then she flips him the bird when she gets off the bus. True love!

Time for Plan B by The Guys In The Magic Hats. Matt Damon runs into them as they are re-programming his partner, and he says, “WTF?!?” And then he takes off running but The Guys In The Magic Hats catch him on account of they can go through special doors, and they tie Matt Damon up. The Head Guy In A Magic Hat then decides that, rather than erase Matt Damon’s mind and make him a blithering idiot (which sounds redundant, since after all he was a politician), they make him promise not to tell anyone what he saw. Oh, and also he can’t ever see the semi-beautiful woman again. Because it turns out that if they get together, nothing happens. But if they stay apart, Matt Damon becomes president and saves the world. Toughest choice since Sophie had to decide which child lived and which one died! (I guess that was the choice she had. I never saw that movie. Looked like a downer to me.)

You can guess what happens next – Matt Damon ditches the girl, decides to run for the Senate, is way way waaaaay up in the polls, and then finds out the semi-beautiful woman is going to get married, so he shows up at the wedding just in time to tell her that he loves her, that his love transcends his potential ability to save the world, and that he’s really not crazy. Did you guess that? You should have!

To prove he’s not crazy, he takes the semi-beautiful woman with him as the Men With Magic Hats chase him. Luckily for him, The Black Guy With A Magic Hat has given him his Magic Hat, so now Matt Damon is A Guy That Also Has A Magic Hat. BUT BUT BUT – Matt Damon must NEVER EVER turn the door handle on the magic door counter-clockwise. Clockwise is cool; but counter-clockwise is UNCOOL.

Matt Damon takes the semi-beautiful woman through Magic Doors that end up in Yankee Stadium and then the Statue of Liberty. This convinces the semi-beautiful woman that Matt Damon is not actually crazy.

But The Men In Magic Hats trap Matt Damon so what does he do? What would YOU do? Turn a doorknob counter-clockwise, of course!

Which blows up the entire world.

Kidding! This puts Matt Damon and the semi-beautiful woman in a giant office which presumably is The Office Of The Chairman. You and I know The Chairman as God but He is really The Chairman. However, Matt Damon nevers gets anywhere close to The Chairman. I’m getting tired of capitalizing stuff so let’s just say that Matt Damon is spared and gets to keep his sanity, stay with the semi-beautiful woman, and probably also save the world as president of the United States, because he chose love over all else.

The Head Guy With A Magic Hat gets a letter from The Chairman, which I am guessing means The Chairman is going to scramble his brains.

I really liked this movie. It would have been good even on some other day than Easter. But since I saw it on Easter, I give it 4 Easter eggs out of a possible 5 Easter eggs.

I'm about to go see "Fast and Furious 7". I have a feeling I'm going to need an extra-thick thesaurus for this one! How many ways can I find to say "ZOMG that was Freaking Awesome!"?

Movie critics gave Interstellar mixed reviews but I Loved it..Yes it's long but the plot is very suspenceful and will keep you on the edge until the end..Matthew McConaughey is one-note like always but he gave a convincing performance...Mat Damon is good @ being Bad...All the movie needed was the voice of Morgan Freeman as God....

Saw this last night. I actually quite enjoyed it. I would have switched to another channel if it werent for the bird flying into the invisible grid near the beginning. Basically, what sets out as generic kids-stay-at-a-haunted-cabin-in-the-woods horror flick turns the genre on its head. Pretty entertaining stuff where nothing is what it seems and just when you think you have it, it throws another curve ball at you.

Well, I just saw "Fast and Furious 7". All I can say is:

[img:$uid]http://s3.amazonaws.com/rapgenius/OMGRalph_Furley.gif[/img:$uid]

AND

[img:$uid]http://media.giphy.com/media/13k1e8OMVO2a3K/giphy.gif[/img:$uid]

OK, I can say more than that. I can say actual words. But as I predicted, I will run out of synonyms for "awesome" in short order!

DISCLAIMER - This movie is so amazing that I will NOT post any spoilers or give anything away. I promise!

Where to start? It doesn't matter! This movie is overwhelming from the first minute! The Rock and Jason Statham get into a grand fight, which ends with Statham sliding a blinking hockey puck at The Rock. Uh oh! We all know what a blinking hockey puck means!

Kaboom!

The Rock ends up in the hospital. Then a dude is killed, and this forces Vin Diesel to get the band back together. Then Kurt Russell joins the band and things get really remarkable!

The rest of this breathtaking masterpiece is total non-stop action. I could stop here, but I have many more synonyms to use!

For instance, the cars are tremendous. I especially like the fact that Vin Diesel is a Mopar man - just like me! He has at least three classic Chargers (including the totally badass blown black one from the original movie. BTW, "badass" is not a thesaurus-approved synonym for "awesome" but you know what it means!); a '73 Cuda; a '69 1/2 Roadrunner; and probably others. I know the crowded theater appreciated me calling out the car models as they appeared because I was clearly the most expert Mopar man in the theater. For instance, I bet I'm the only one that knew Vin Diesel's '69 1/2 Roadrunner was a '69 1/2 year model. You could tell by the lift-off hood:

[img:$uid]http://www.cars-on-line.com/photo/56100/69ply56189-1.jpg[/img:$uid]

Hey - and while we're talking about the audience, a huuuuuuuuge shout-out to my stunning wife for going to see this with me! Honey, I know you don't ever read these things but I want you to know how bodacious you are!

There's really no way to lay out the majestic and impressive things that occur without giving away some important plot details. Oh, who am I kidding? There aren't any important plot details. That's what makes this movie so jam-up supernacular!

If you can imagine it, this movie has it. What else needs to be said? Well, this - the final scene takes about an hour (it seems) and you will be glued to your seat every second! Holy moley, do they ever blow up a bunch of stuff! It's eximous to the max!

I predict The Rock will win an Oscar for his topgallant portrayl of whatever his character's name was. Hey, did you see The Rock on "Saturday Night Live" the other day? Remember his monologue song where he claimed to be Franchise Viagra? He most definitely is!

As if the final scene wasn't enough, the actual ending of the movie will move you to tears. I'm not kidding, either. It will, or you don't have tear ducts. It is the most prestantious tribute I've ever seen, and I am actually getting a little misty as I type this.

OK, I've used all the adjectives for "awesome" that I want. You should have figured out by now that this movie is...well, - AWESOME. Go see it. You will love it, because I know that you too are bonzer!

Five stars out of five stars for this one!

.

I found the first half just excruciating. Second half was a little better, but cannot recommend this movie. Performances (with the exception of Adam Horovitz) were strong, though.

I liked it a lot too. I probably woulnd't rank it as my favourite film of last year (blue ruin & a field in england would edge it out), and it definitely could test your patience if you're not in the mindset to go along with its pace, but if you can get on the movie's wavelength I think it's really rewarding.

It was a surprise to see Keira Knighty and Matthew McFadden together on screen again. I loved them in Pride and Prejudice and loved to see them both on the same movie again even though they weren't involved romatically. But it still worked. I know this movie must be a remake although I've never seen the original or any other version, but I was getting lost when they kept showing things on a stage. I thought that the brother lived above the stage at first. But then realized that they must keep showing a stage to probably say that all life is a stage? Or maybe that this was a musical originally and that's why they kept showing the stage. I don' know.

Mad Max (1979)

The thin road-marker between barbarism and super-heroism in a post-apocalyptic stunt workout that — save for the baby-onboard sticker bonding only as emotional predictability dictates — often strikes as hard as a headlong smash into an 18-wheeler with a reinforced grill that bites down on its full speed.

Seemingly cobbled together by a skilled filmmaker with a vision in the possibilities of its strewn — part "Chainsaw Massacre" low budget fear, part broken turn signal stuck on a "Clockwork Orange", part "Of Mice and Men" — producing something as off its rocker as a motorcyclist with one leg hooted on by a tooth-challenged grease monkey absolutely giddy at his latest 8-cylinder, turbocharged dump-struck.

Friday night was EPIC. First, we had this incredible storm come through. We got something like 5 inches of rain in an hour. A mighty wind, lots of lightning, and thunder that sounded like sonic booms. It was great!

Then I finished off some bottle of red wine that was hanging around, which allowed me to open up a bottle of Kaman Winery's Writers Block. Z.O.M.G. is that the best wine I've ever had! We've got 6 or 7 bottles of it but I'd been waiting for the right time to open one.

So when was the right time?

Right in the middle of a raging thunderstorm while watching "The November Man"!

That may just have been a perfect night becasue The November Man is a complete badass of a movie. It's the perfect secret agent movie. It has a good guy, it has women hitmen (WTF? That doesn't sound right but neither does "hitwomen"), it has a motorcycle chase scene, and it has JAMES FREAKING BOND.

Wanna hear something weird? We oldies spent the entire 80's clamoring for Pierce Brosnan to play James Bond. Who could be more perfect, except the previous James Bond, Roger Moore? So finally they get Brosnan out from under whatever heinous contracts he was chained to, and he makes some James Bond movies. Do you know how many of them I've seen?

Zero point zero.

I have no idea why. Well, I do. He played James Bond from 1994 - 2002 and it was during that exact time that our kids were young. So I saw plenty of Barney the Dinosaur and Hannah Montana during that time but sadly, no James Bond. Just another reason to hold Miley Cyrus in disdain!

Enough pontificating about extraneous piffle. On to the movie!

Ooops. I drank a LOT of Writer's Block. And this is a complicated film that moves VERY fast. The only thing I was certain of was that Pierce Brosnan was the good guy. And that I want to move to Switzerland. And that I'm going to find his old James Bond movies.

Because if he's half as cool as James Bond as he was as The November Man, those movies will rock!

SPOILER ALERT: This isn't really a spoiler alert but do you know why the CIA called Pierce Brosnan "The November Man"? Because whenever he appeared, everyone died. I have NO idea what the hell that's supposed to mean.

EXTRANEOUS PIFFLE: My wife took me to a stage production of "Mamma Mia' last night. I kept looking at the Sam character and seeing Pierce Brosnan.

Anyway, "The November Man" is a great spy movie. It would be great without a thunderstorm. It would even be great without Writer's Block. If you like action, you should see this movie.

I give it four empty wine glasses out of five empty wine glasses, which is both a great rating and an accurate reflection of wine consumed while watching "The November Man".

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Meance (1999, Bluray revised version 2012)

I prefer the dvd version with puppet yoda. At the celebration at the end he looks so wise and serene at the end and on the bluray he looks annoyed and constipated. It's a minor gripe. Jar Jar inspired by Shakespeare's Lancelot the Clown proves to be a fantastic new edition to the great myth of Star Wars. A pure delight from beginning to end. 9.3/10

^Thank you Brendan! I'm glad you enjoy these!

That makes it even MORE satisfying to introduce a new occassional segment I'm calling Movies That I Watched The Last Half Of. I didn't know it at the time, but the genesis for this idea was "Limitless", which is the first post in this thread. So, Movies That I Watched The Last Half Of will deal with movies that, for some reason, I only saw the last half.

Actually, I think I know the reason. I believe it's a plot by AT&T U-Verse to schedule movies this way. One movie starts on TBS at 1:00; the other movie starts on TNT at 2:00; another movie starts on FX at 3:00; and so on. Clearly all the cable stations are in on this, which can only mean The Illuminati is behind it. And I have actual proof! See below!

Today, thanks to an insulin reaction, there are TWO Movies That I Watched The Last Half Of. The First Movie That I Watched The Last Half Of was "Zoolander".

"Zoolander" is one of those movies that's on TBS pretty much every weekend, and has been since 1950 or whatever. I've never watched it because, well, it has Owen Wilson in it and my experience has been that Owen Wilson is where funny goes to die.

Wrong this time!

I liked "Zoolander". It was the right kind of stupid. You know - there are two kinds of stupid when it comes to movies. There's stupid-stupid, where things just don't make any sense at all. Like "Pacific Rim" or "Dark Shadows". Those movies were just stupid-stupid.

But then there's smart-stupid. Smart-stupid is really hard to attain but when you do, the results are comedy gold, or sometimes comedy silver. "Animal House", "Caddyshack", "This is Spinal Tap", and "Stripes" are examples of smart-stupid producing comedy gold. "Zoolander" is comedy silver.

The jokes are funny and the cast is GREAT. It has Garry Shandling in it and guess what his role is? "Celebrity at Fashion Show"! With no lines! You have to be a GENIUS to cast Garry Shandling in your movie and not give him any lines. It made me recite half the lines in my head in his awesome Comedy Classic Nasal Voice! (Note to self: Find the "It's Garry Shandling's Show" DVDs somewhere. Also, that other one he did where he's a talk show host.)

Will Farrell is awesome; Ben Stiller is awesome; and even Owen Wilson is not bad. And David Duchovny! LMFAO, was he great!

So based on the last half of this movie, I'd say it's a great movie to watch with your brain turned off. I can only imagine how much I would have laughed if I'd Watched The Last Half Of This Movie with some Kaman Winery's Writers Block!

Three stars out of five for The Last Half Of This Movie!

2323232323232323232323232323232323232323232323232323232323232323

OK, that's not a typo. I switched over to The Last Half Of "The Number 23" because it had Virginia Madsen in it and I remembered that she's hot. So I started watching The Last Half Of It to see if she was hot in this movie but at the point I turned it on, Jim Carrey was freaking out over some book, and the number 23.

Whoa! Do you realize how significant the number 23 is on the Org?

We have/had probably 23 members that have/had the number 23 in their screen name. There's Mars23, who is a cool dude that made Moderator and then left. There's Graycap 23, who no doubt agrees with any and all Illuminati theories contained herein. And there's even an Orger named Number23! After you read this review, you will look at all the 23-related Orgers with a side eye.

So anyway, Jim Carrey is obsessed with this book written by "Topsy Krett" (Pro Tip: say that aloud and slowly) which details a bunch of weird stuff that deals with the number 23. Also, there's a demon-dog that apparently follows Jim Carrey around, so he shoots it with a tranquilizer. This takes place in a graveyard, where the demon-dog is sitting in front of a tombstone of a girl named "Laura Tillon" who was born on February 10, and died on February 10 at the age of 23. You know who ELSE was born on February 10?

Me!

That hooked me right there. Also, this movie takes place in February, with the ending on February 10th. It's like they said, "We'll make a movie guaranteed to make RodeoSchro Watch The Last Half Of, because we'll make everything happen on his birthday". Thanks, guys!

Speaking of guys, check this out. I am the ONLY person according to the Internet to have figured this out. What I figured out was the Batman Connection.

Jim Carrey's movie son is named Robin. That makes him Batman, or The Dark Knight. Most of the movie takes place during a dark night. Jim Carrey was in a Batman movie. "The Number 23" was directed by Joel Schumacher, who also directed the same Batman movie Jim Carrey was in. So this all relates back to Batman in some way or another. Batman Connection, registered and copyrighted by me, RodeoSchro.

Well, after a bunch of weird stuff - SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT - it turns out that this is all bogus. Did you figure out that "Topsy Kretts" is really "Top Secret"? And guess who Top Secret is? That's right, Jim Carrey! They make you think it's different people at different times but it turns out Jim Carrey murdered Laura Tillon in a jealous rage and then tried to commit suicide but only succeeded in erasing his memory.

So Jim Carrey turns himself in to the cops who somehow or another, without a shred of evidence to actually prove Carrey's story is true, accept that he's the killer and they let the other guy out of prison. Carrey says the judge is going to go easy on him on account of Carrey turning himself in (albeit 13 years after the fact), and the movie ends with a Bible verse 32:23 that says your sins are going to find you sooner or later. Also, you can't escape a demon-dog.

I give The Last Half Of "The Number 23" 3.5 demon-dogs out of 5 demon-dogs. Also, let this be your warning about anyone with 23 in their name.

[img:$uid]http://i267.pho.../img:$uid] Perfume: The Story of a Murder. 4/5. A bizarre movie. I bought the book and almost half way done with it.

Perfume was Kurt Cobain's favourite book. Too bad he never got to see the movie.
