A love story just in time for Valentine's Day - Charles Manson & Star Burton

Well .... not quite a love story after all.

http://www.aol.com/articl...7754337671

"Along with friend Craig Hammond, Burton reportedly wanted to display Manson's body in a glass crypt, much like Lenin's tomb in Russia. The goal was apparently for the attraction to rake in a ton of money.

Burton and Hammond initially wanted Manson to sign papers granting them ownership of his body, but the killer balked at the notion, so the two conceived the idea for Burton to marry Manson. The law in California, where Manson is incarcerated, grants spousal ownership of remains."

Okay I've got zero sympathy for Manson, so I couldn't care less about him getting duped by his now ex-fiancee. But isn't it creepy as hell to put ANY corpse on public display? I don't understand how that could even be legal.

If Burton had pulled it off, would she really make a ton of money? Are there really that many people that would pay to see something like that? If you lived nearby, would you pay to see Manson's corpse?

you'd be amazed at the number of "Cholie's Kids" who are high up

in the financial community, and the others who are just like church people

always willin to put money in the basket (even if they broke)

as for the legality, i don't get how it can be a shock that someone would

display dead bodies... its been done for centuries by folks and gettin creepier

as times go on.

i am KING BAD!!!
you are NOT...
evilking
STOP ME IF YOU HEARD THIS BEFORE...

I dunno, I've read news stories where people died at home and their loved ones were so attached to them that they never took the body out of the house. When discovered, their loved ones were arrested.

I can understand if the person who died had given legal consent (obviously before they died) to be kept on display, but without that pre-death consent I don't see how it's legal. It's the same reason why those who have sex with corpses get arrested, because the deceased never gave prior consent.

Their 90-day marriage license ran out because Manson dragged his feet, and now that he knows he was being used by her there's no longer any plans for him to marry. Not sure if she's still his "girlfriend", probably not.
