So what's happening????

What r u trying to get done b4 this year ends?

I'm trying to do my BIG grocery shopping
I need to clean the house
I have a pile of washing to do
I have to go to the beautician so I have a smooth start to the new year smile .

And it's the 31st already..... Not much time left for that last dash to finish up the year!!!

But I'm sure I will manage to do at least half....

So anyway what do u need to do???

About 1,500 more push-ups but I have 15 days left to do them before we leave the mountain.

It wasn't that bad until I got sick, LOL. I'm on a 30-day vacation and have no gym available, so I set a goal of 2,000 push-ups in a month. That's really not very much, especially since I'd worked up to doing 150 a day.

But then I got the flu and couldn't do any push-ups for 6 days. Yesterday was my first day back, and I did 100. No room for error now!

Mainly I am interested to see if doing so many push-ups will help my benchpress.

Not in the mood to make my family jump through many hoops, date changes, last minute notifications, limitations, exclusions, making sure the venue is across state lines and further away from my family making it harder for them to be there, zero consideration to my family, got me feeling like some folks will deal with their daughter marrying a black dude but really don't want too many black folks at their precious wedding.

Fuck them. BTW her family new about this at least six months ago.

...and funerals.

But I want to be happy fr my son, but he seems ashamed of me, treating me as if I don't matter. I am poor, single mom, so he told me I should be happy to be invited.

They keep making it more difficult for my family to be there, they are making more consideration for her girlfriends. Everyone works in Boston, where his entire family is, yet they only want to invite 5 or so of my family, excluding my mother.

Yeah... I am done.

I am a Puerto Rican, and my son's father's family is Haitian... both families are HUGE how do I invite only 5 of us?

In there is never a situation in any family where the mother of the groom is not invited, especially if she is a sweet lady and the MOST supportive grandparent the groom has. Deplorable.

Told him this! That they should just elope... but you know I have an older sister who is so thrilled to be going to the wedding, yes I found out when everyone else did about the upcoming nuptuals so they are going.

No thought to my mother, or his fathers mother... both woemn are not invited. Wrong on all kinds of levels.

I agree. If it's such a hassle to take into accounts both families, then head off to Vegas and get hitched.

But catering to only 1 side of the family is ratchet, REGARDLESS of your income bracket.

nod My son is stuck on only what his new bride wants.

BTW, he decided NOT to go to his college graduation. He will marry and take off to Vermont in April, he cares not for his graduation, nor his feild of study. He is giving up on being a Marine Biologist.... to work some BS job he has no idea what (maybe Fed Ex) when he moves there.

GREAT! thumbs up!

BTW, his bride works in a bake shop in a grocery store after graduating from the same college two years ago, her field of study was an English major. disbelief

My gut instinct tell me they planned this long ago and only told me now because they didn't want me talking my son into sticking to following his dreams.

Well... let adversity teach them. shrug

So I hit the gym this morning, anxious to see how The Big Push-Up Project of 2015 did or did not impact my benchpress strength.

To recap: The last time I benched was December 13th. I pushed up 316 pounds. Then I went out of town for a solid month, with no gym access whatsoever.

So I did 2,222 push-ups. It would have been a lot more but I got sick with the flu for an entire week at Christmas. That robbed a lot of strength no doubt, but I think I built it all back by the time I came home on January 16th.

Today is January 20th, which means it's been 5 weeks since lifting but 2,222 push-ups in the alternative.

My shoulders felt a little rough on the first two warm-up sets but I ended up being able to bench 306 pounds today. Not too bad for not lifting in 5 weeks!

My conclusion is that push-ups are great if you have nothing else to do. They will help you keep your strength, but that's about it. I don't think that if I added push-ups to my benchpressing routine it would help me get to 350 pounds any sooner.

I'm glad I did them, though.
