Kid Rock Is An Ordained Minister?

I was visiting family for the holidays. And in the closest town near me (Lubbock, TX) Kid Rock married 2 people confused and has been doing marriages across TX and Detroit eek what the sweet fuck. And he also has this recent sweet line.

''As an ordained minister I don't look forward to marrying gay people, but I'm not opposed to it."

How easy is it to become an Ordained Minister? lol when trash like Kick Rock can be one. Who wakes up one day and says ''yeah! i wanna be married by that one guy. The one who came from a well off family. Who moved to rough parts of Detroit for street cred. Was a failed rapper for 10 years. Rode the rap-rock wave for a couple years till it died. Wears the southern flag because he says it looks cool. Was a dead beat dad, a druggie, chose to be white trash, made a sex tape with 4 groupies and Scott Strapp, and has been in jail 8 times!''

This is why aliens weep for us confused

well you have to do a little more in some places. i think you may have to pay a fee to get the letter from the ULC and take that to the office that issues licences to get registered to officiate but....yeah it it is pretty easy.

I'd rather get married by Kid Rock than by these ordained ministers:

Omarosa
Lady Gaga
Kris Jenner
Kathy Griffin
Hugh Hefner

FTR - Kid Rock is nothing like the way he used to be in his obnoxious younger years. He's greatly matured and has become one of the most down to earth, generous and supportive performers in the music biz ... and don't be surprised if he gets inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame next year. razz

Last time I heard Kid has a successful Beer Company located in Detroit...Most people that become Ministers feel it's a "calling" from The Lord....I have seen his interviews over the years and he NEVER talked about The Lord. Whitney Houston talked about the Lord more than he did and she was on drugs....So I'm curious to know if he was a "closeted Christian" or what his deal is....I hope this is not just boredom and he needs something to do...

There's many musicians who keep their spirituality private for various reasons, either because they don't want it to negatively impact their popular image or because they are just very private people. We've never heard Axl Rose talking about his belief in God, have we?

But some of Kid's religousness does leak out. For example his album titled "Rock N' Roll Jesus" with songs such as "Amen" and "Blue Jeans and a Rosary" and song lyrics such as "Put faith in human nature, our creator and our savior" and interview quotes such as "I’m a God-fearing man. I’m all about forgiveness."

It's definitely not out of boredom, the man keeps very busy even when he's not constantly touring. He's very involved in charities, supporting the troops and doing amazing things such as this:

"Never let nasty stalkers disrespect you. They start shit, you finish it. Go down to their level, that's the only way they'll understand. You have to handle things yourself."

I saw Kid Rock a couple years ago and he was tremendous. At one point he said something like, "I ain't the best singer, guitar player or drummer you'll ever heard, but I damn sure know how to entertain you".

He was absolutely right, and he entertained the hell out of 75,000 people that night.

I saw him too. I agree with your comments. I was not a big fan, but he put on a good show.

I am an ordained minister through that very church. I married a couple of my friends last June.

I'm also an atheist. The only tenets of the church are that we believe in freedom of religion and we believe in doing what's right. I could/can get on board with that, so I signed up, got my credentials, paid my license fee in my state and I'm now legal to perform marriages.

It was pretty fun! My niece has asked me to perform her wedding next year as well.

That was probably the Best Night Ever tour, right?

I give Kid Rock a ton of credit for trying to persuade other artists to bring down prices. On that tour most all of the seats went for $20, the tour shirts cost $20 and they were charging just $4 for beer. What a bargain for 3 hours of great music. And I like the way most of the tickets were paperless to prevent scalping. There isn't a musician out there that supports their fanbase better than Kid.
