I received a really nice set of hiking/trekking poles. I'm pretty excited about them.

I'm equally excited about the fancy food processor I received as well.

And I'm also pretty excited about the gift I gave my bf, an introductory flying lesson. smile

Which food processor did you recieve? I am thinking about getting myself one and would love
a review on the one you recieved smile

It's an 11-cup Cuisinart.

I have not used it yet. redface Will have to do that this week. smile

Holy crap this thread, like, went places! I thought it was dead. lol

I think my favorite present has turned out to be Neil Gaiman's 'Ocean at the End of the Lane'. FANTASTIC book! I have NO IDEA why I didn't buy it before now, seeing as how I claim him as my favorite author.

I have that book on my nightstand and I've started it about 3 times in the last year or so and somehow barely make it a handful of pages before I abandon it. I'm going to make a more concerted effort once I finish my current book.

I got him a really nice leather daily planner since he's just opened his own business and needs a nice planner for his desk, also got him some Chanel Bleu for men.Good Christmas smile

Yes, I remember us touching on our mutual Neil love at some point in the past. smile But oh my! It is SOOOO good. My favorite Neil "thing" since American Gods, and that's saying a lot since he published a new Sandman story this (last) year. I love it far, FAR more than Anansi Boys, which always left me feeling very underwhelmed. I also got his Hansel and Gretel adaptation for Christimas. I haven't read that one yet, but I've heard very excellent things about it.

I haven't read H&G yet (should only take an hour or two) because one of the other books I got (I ask for a lot of books lol ) was Malcolm Gladwell's 'Blink', which I'm reading right now. I read Outliers last year and it literally changed my life. Of his other books, Blink was the one that sounded most interesting to me and so far I am not at all disappointed. Not sure what kind of reading most people do, but if you're ever interested in non-fiction about the how the mind works, why we are how we are and do what we do as human beings, read Malcolm Gladwell.

Never underestimate a good pair of warm, fuzzy, super thick socks. Terrible things have happened to people who have done so. Terrible things. nod

I got the Ocean at the End of the Lane for my birthday but haven't read it yet. Glad to hear it's good. I love everything I've read by him EXCEPT Anansi Boys, which I stopped somewhere in the middle and just don't care to pick it back up. I just lost interest in the story. But I was a big Sandman fan and his novels are great.

My brother gave me a mini Cuisinart back in the 80's, and it's still working like a champ. I think it's about a four or five cup. I didn't need one of those bigger ones. I just love it. It's a lil work horse.
