I was watching Brooklyn 99 tonight and Andre Braughers character was getting harrased by IAD and an old nemisis of his. In the middle of it all, he was moping at a bar and was approached by 2 of his detectives. They asked, 'is everything ok?" His reply? I'm not a Moby a Dick or Melville expert but am aware of the book and its premise to a degree. This struck me as maybe being a quote from the book. Is it a quote or frefrence to M.D.(the whale), or am I just a dumbass reading WAAAAY to much into some bullshit.
