Russell Brand: 'I want to address the alienation and despair'

Power to the people is Russell Brand's new manifesto. He tells us why he's 'ready to die for this'

"Revolution" is not the same as evolution.

Maybe he should work on changing himself first and not be the douchebag he's become known for. He's really not very popular and I'm not sure what the lengthy text from the guardian says - as a lot of it just comes across as buzz words and hype.

He's uploaded 200 videos of his analysis of news stories and current events to his youtube, in 2014 alone. https://www.youtube.com/u...and/videos

Now he's released a book. This man means business and he's doing a great job of bringing awareness of manipulations by the media to new audiences. More power to him. He doesn't give a shit if it costs him business relationships. If only other celebrities would put their money where their mouth is.

.

And yes, he's not popular to the tune of 620,000 youtube subscribers to his Trews, True News youtube channel....But that was a pretty weird thing to say anyway?

I can't see any reason whatsoever to dislike his enthusiasm for the common people.

I agree with him.

He raises awareness about inequality that is established by a small elite who runs our "democracy".

We hate our neighbours and eat poisoned fabricated junk food. Because media tells us too.

It's good that folks wake up.

Allthough I suspect him not to live that long if the Reloveution unfolds. The elite tends to stay put. And kill those who want equal distribution of life's resources and peace.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

i've been up and down with russell... i used to really like him

but this isn't a great interview... he wrote a book, and when asked about specifics in the book, he refused to answer

it was a terrible interview, due to the way russell carried on

I liked it because it's rare to see a man talking so passionately on a news channel like the BBC and I think it proves his committment.

Yes, I'd agree that he was a little too wound up to hold a steady conversation but when he does slow down he makes good points. Being excitable is part of who he is though, I wouldn't expect anything else.
