Anytime, Hatrina. I wish I had a DVR so I could record this. This is a very nice tribute thus far, very tasteful. Good job ABC (for a change). Trolls be gone!

Though I respect his family's wishes I hope the the counry starts taking a real look at the effects of people dealing with depression instead of his career. Everything he did was based on his maniac behaviour and how he as able to draw from that. Its a double edge sword. This kind of reminds me of the Junior Seau tragedy a few years ago. He was one of the biggest stars of the NFL but had severe depression, while living with the pressure of pro sports and then once he retired he didn't have the same identity. Depression is rampant these days and there should be no stigma against suffering from it. We live in rough times right now. Trolls be gone!

President making a statement about an actor's death in such a way, and people thinking that it is appropriate, I'm a bit surprised...just because the idea of a president saying such things to an actor who potentially killed himself, when there are so many other humanitarians who died, would be ridiculed in my home country...even knowing movie is a huge part of art, and art is a huge part of life, and how hollywood is the most powerful industry in the USA, I am still a bit surprised..

Wow...this hurts... I remember watching 'Mork and Mindy' with my Mom when I was a kid. And I just watched 'What Dreams May Come' a few weeks ago on HBO. What a brilliant comedian, and talented dramatic actor. And by all accounts a genuinely good guy. Gone much too soon. Robin will be missed.

I understand how you feel. But, a lot of people didn't know (or in my case forgot) that Robin did a lot of work overseas with the USO organization to cheer up troops who were deployed. Apparently, he did this a lot and without a media circus. He apparently did this multiple times while he was alive and I think the President made reference to it. But you're right, I can't remember the last time a president mentioned an actor's death, under these circumstances, especially since there's a lot of unrest elsewhere. Trolls be gone!

All I can say to that is, there is a great many people in America AND around the world that were completely shocked and instantly hurt and saddened by the untimely passing of Robin Williams. A man that spent the majority of his life dedicated to bringing us nothing but joy and laughter through his work, on and off camera. I don't know what your home country is but I'm very happy that I live in a country where even with all the chaos and disorder that is going on in the world, we have a President that has such compassion and care for us, that he will take a brief moment and offer words of condolence, when we grieve. Yeah Jon, a lot of things don't make sense to me either. In one report they were seeing he was last seen alive at his home at 10pm Sunday night. But he was found dead from asphixiation (spelling?) and wasn't breathing when the ambulance arrived. My only guess is that perhaps he and his wife went to bed at 10pm and maybe she left home early while he woke up later and then took his life. Trolls be gone!

Wasn't there a story about Robin Williams dancing at one of the Prince shows in SF a few years back?

He was a beloved entertainer. I'm sure he touched many lives, even those of powerful men.

He wasn't just an entertainer...
Williams took part in the America: A Tribute to Heroes charity telethon for victims of 9/11.
He performed at the 2008 We are Amused comedy night to benefit Prince's Trust.
Robin Williams is one of many famous people who show signs of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), and he uses these characteristics to bring laughter to those who need it most.
“You’re only given a little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it,” Williams has said.
Williams began his life as a comedian in an attempt to gain attention from his mother, who was away working as a fashion model much of the time, leaving him to be raised by the maid employed by his family.
Being, in his words, “short, shy, chubby and lonely” as a child, he also found comedy a helpful way to get his classmates to like him. His talent won him a full scholarship to the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, where he became close friends with his classmate, Christopher Reeve.
The two remained close, and after the horse riding accident that left Reeve paralyzed, Williams was there to show his friend how to smile again, arriving dressed as a doctor and claiming to be Reeve’s proctologist. It was the first time Reeve laughed after the incident.
Williams went on to join the board of the Christopher Reeve Foundation, and also founded his own Windfall Foundation.
He uses his incredible energy to help a variety of causes, from visiting children’s wards in hospitals to entertaining US troops in war zones. His frenetic behavior, typical of those who suffer from ADD, heightens his performance, coaxing those in difficult situations to let their problems go and laugh. “No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world.”
Robin’s charity work has covered the spectrum from health care and human rights, to education, environmental protection, and the arts. He has toured the Middle East with the USO a total of five times, including visits to Iraq and Afghanistan, to help raise morale among the troops and is, perhaps, best known philanthropically for his affiliation with Comic Relief, which was founded in 1986 as a non-profit organization to help America’s homeless. To date, the overall efforts of the “Comic Relief” organization have raised over $50 Million. In 2010, Robin gave 100% of the proceeds from his shows in New Zealand to victims of the devastating earthquake in Christchurch. "Let love be your perfect weapon..." ~~Andy Biersack

Todd Bridges is a moron and needs to shut his fat, blatthering mouth. Would he rather for people who are depressed to be strung out on drugs and alcohol? Those who have never battled clinical depression have no idea what people go thru who suffer from it everyday for years and decades. I don't know why there continues to be a stigma attached to the disease. It is a mental disorder. It is no one's fault. It's not a choice. It's not something that goes away on it own. Sometimes meds work, sometimes they don't. Most people with depression deal with it the best way they can. Some people just get tired of battling and decide not to do it anymore. It doesn't make them selfish. It's a personal choice. [Edited 8/12/14 6:18am] "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley
