Haven't had one in 5 years. Never crave one. After you've stopped for a while it DOES taste nasty. You have to wean yourself though...worse than drugs.
OK...so there's phosphoric and citrus acid in coke. Hydrochloric acid is already in ones tummy...naturally, at 5000 ppm. Cokes phosphorus content is a secret. Its pH is around 3.5. The stomachs pH is 2. What's in your tummy to begin with is worse. The only real bad thing about coke is the corn syrup. WAAAAY too much sugar for a body to behave reasonably around. It would take a cave man some seriously hard work...nearly if not impossible...to get THAT much sugar in his little cave man tummy at one time. Your brain has sugar orgasms when h drink them things. Yes our stomachs are acidic...I was thinking more of what the acid in soda does to our teeth.
With a pH of 3.2, diet soda is very acidic. (As a point of reference, the pH of battery acid is 1. Water is 7.) The acid is what readily dissolves enamel, and just because a soda is diet doesn't make it acid-light. Adults who drink three or more sodas a day have worse dental health, says a University of Michigan analysis of dental checkup data. Soda drinkers had far greater decay, more missing teeth, and more fillings.
It's an excellent anti-corrosive. Too bad they sell it everywhere and market to our kids instead of at Home Depot with a warning label.

I may have a Pepsi once a week, but most of the time I drink Fresca or Clear Choice Sparkling Water (Black Cherry, Raspberry, White Grape or Orange Mango). You should try Clear Choice, Guns - no sodium, sugar or calories.
According to Dr. Oz - who is on TV as I type this - organic energy drinks have 60 teaspoons of sugar in them. So they are bad for you.
But according to all the emails I get, Dr. Oz thinks pretty much everything is bad for you except Ginseng.
Dr. oz is the antichrist, a piece of shit, a lying scumbag, and an entertainer more than a ''DR'' I'm glad he got called out on his bogus claims recently
Sorry... i really dislike him. As do most people i know in the fitness world. He causes lots of people to drop money on bogus weight loss supplements. and of course they never really see results... only thing that gets thinner is the wallet

I once saw something on TV where they showed you how exactly much sugar is in a 2-liter of soda. It's really just liquid candy in addition to all the sugar, there's alot of other weird ingredients that aren't good for you.

Does that mean that they put some in the water also?
My routine is to buy a single cherry coke bottle whenever I see it close to the register. Primarily that's at the Home Depot most places don't sell cherry coke, so I might drink one of those a couple of times a month. I can't say I feel sick afterwards but there have been times when there's a 2ltr in the house and I indulge a couple of times too many and I feel sick, but that rare. Sugar-free seems to mess with me the worse, feeling bloated and generally blasé. Seems like I'm just safe drinking water and leaving everything else alone which is dulll.

By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!
That's Nestle Pure Life water on the left that I drink. It's the best tasting water you can get without spending $8.99 for 6 bottles of Fiji. It's enhanced with Calcium Chloride, Sodium Bicarbonate and Magnesium Sulfate for taste.
I gave up drinking sodas earlier this year. And alcohol for the mot part (still drink every once and awhile in social situations) i did it to get even more hardcore in my training. And also realizing how the empty calories in beer and sodas are just kind of saddening. Not to mention it fucks up your digestive system... and the bloating oh man... the bloating. How the hell did i drink this shit everyday as a kid? after seeing how bloated that bullshit makes you.
I hate a Dr. Pepper today... i was having a cheat day. And i felt so gross drinking it like it was just watery sugar... grams and grams of watery sugar. It just grossed me out when i was done
Anyone else feel this way about sodas? i think my body has become so used to not having them. That when i drink it my body is yelling ''NAH BRO NAH''
[Edited 7/19/14 15:47pm]
i'm glad also! sodas may taste good, but the damage they do to the body can be irreprable.
i mean even as a child i was not allowed to have kool-aid. my mom called it "sugar water."

I don't recognise the brand Ren
regular milk does have lactose, but it's not really anything to be worried about, since they are saying it's the fructose component that is damaging (unless you are diabetic or prediabetic, in which case I think lactose also spikes up blood sugar)
