Need to go? Such a silly thing to say. It might not be your cup of tea (nor mine, really) but why even suggest taking something away from millions of others that enjoy it.

Just don't go see it. There, it's gone from your life.

Well of course it's silly, but you know, it's fine to vent sometimes (or in my case alot of the time when it comes to these movies).

"Lone Ranger" was a refreshing change, same with the "pirate" movies, but look how the former played out? No brand recognition, no inbuilt fanbase like the fanboys who love marvel or DC, and so, that films fails (that and other things but mainly that LOL, movie wasn't that bad was it?).

Hollywood's spate of superhero movies are getting really stale now. Shit, even "hancock" tried something new, but most don't.

Hollywood knows it's safe going through every Marvel and DC "hero" as they know the geeks already have great knowledge of them and so that will create it's own buzz online which is dynamite for film companies. They almost promote themselves.

Of course, the general public has to like them too, but most people will see any blockbuster as long as it's "safe" "CGI'd up", as it's "just a popcorn movie" and that is usually solid enough justifying.

They also recognize basic comicbook heroes and just assume it will be like the others and so see it regardless.

It's too predictable now and the genre has nowhere to go but parody and then re-invention ala Nolan Batman. I don't expect great films, but that genre is too safe and predictable now.

I saw it a few days ago....It was way too long...Not even Mark Wahlberg can carry a 3hr flick without a good script to chew on....Did I say it was too long? When you're sitting there you begin to wonder if it was ever going to end...
