I called a progressive pot Bingo game a few months ago. Talk about pressure! In addition to calling the game, it was my responsibility to decide who yelled "Bingo!" first. We didn't split the pot with multiple winners. First one to yell was the only winner.

The early games were easy, as the cash awards weren't that big. But when we got to the last game, which had the biggest pot, there was controversy. Two people yelled BINGO at almost exactly the same time.

I felt the woman Bingoer had just beat out the man Bingoer, so I called her to the front. But the man came too! He didn't know we weren't splitting the pot, and he got upset when he found out he was in second place.

But wait! It turned out the woman had filled in a box I hadn't called (it was a black-out game). So I got the man to come back and he had a correctly-filled out card. He won!

This sounds lame as I'm typing it but it was really exciting.

mostly i've just played the little leagues, work/school occasions. small stuff, for coupon prizes. but even though i've never played really real Bingo, like down at the actual Bingo Hall, i've heard the games can become quite intense, as you describe above.

why is that, you think? is it survival of the fittest? could a person really make a living at Bingo?

I love Bingo!!

Unfortunately it has been illegal in Holland for a long time.

Things changed though, and if I'm right, it's legal again within a few days.

woot!

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

I don't know how they could make a living at it, as it's just pure luck of the draw. But who knows?

When I say "big pot", I mean it was $300. We started at $20 for the first game, and worked our way up to the $300 game.

^ well, maybe someone could grow that 300$ up to 400 at the slots and that'd be a start nod
