Not saying that this is incorrect, but I've also seen someone in Santa Cruz take readings and find that there was not an unhealthy level of radiation in California.

There are sources of radiation in the US as well. Maybe this person lives near one.

That said, it's terrifying to think that radioactive water had been dumped in the ocean for the past year.
