It also can be a deadly combination.

The combining of those 2 drugs can stop the lungs from functioning when your asleep.

I wouldn't mix the two.

Man...they gave me ambient once while in the hospital to help me sleep. I vaguely remember not being able to find the toilet to pee. Its a hospital room damnit! Its usually pretty spelled out...but not to my ambien-drunk ass.

Trazodone is better. Not as habit-forming as Ambien - and it keeps you asleep longer.

Ambien is very short acting (it has a half-life of 3 hours). Short-acting equals more habituating. And I'm convinced that most people take higher doses of Ambien than they need. I started off with 5 mg - and had instances where my sweetie came into the room after I was asleep and told me later that he had a conversation with me. I had no recollection of him even being there - which scared the livin' crap out of me.

I now take 2.5 mg at the most - and sometimes, if I'm just sort of wound up and want to go to sleep quickly (or if I wake up in the middle of the night), I'll take 1.25 mg. That is plenty, for me.

Stress my friend.

I've yet to meet someone not stressed-out who can't get a good night's sleep (so long as they aren't purposely hijacking their sleep patterns).

So...you don't know any women? Hormones can mess with sleep something fierce.

Ambien is the worst medication I've ever taken! Horrible mood swings during the day and having conversations at night that I had absolutely no memory of the next day. I had several friends and a family member who also took it for insomnia and experienced the same side effects. I've seen some of the most mild-mannered people turn into complete monsters while taking that stuff. Ambien is some scary shit! I can't even begin to imagine what the effects would be when mixed with alcohol!fight fuse

I used to take it to sleep, but it didn't really give a restful sleep. I remember I would wake up after about 4-5 hours, not nearly enough for a good, restful sleep. I had a girlfriend who told me about a friend of hers who had taken it and woke on the front lawn naked as a jaybird. She had not idea how she got there. I believe some of the warnings on the list of side effects were sleepwalking and doing things you have no recollection of. I finally stopped taking it because it just didnt' work well after about a month.

Yep! That's exactly how I felt. Like a boozer and a drug addict with bipolar disorder.lol I swear, the day I stopped taking that junk, I felt an immediate difference. I lost a friend who was taking it, too because he became rather verbally abusive when he was on it. He even threatened me when he became enraged over some plastic silverware!eek Again, a usually very mild-mannered person who turned into King Kong while taking Ambien.disbelief
