Awkward moment at work

I have been at the same job for over 10 years. The year before last due to budget cuts my position as eliminated at one site but I still had the my job and last year (about this time) I got a new position with the same firm doing the same job but at a different site. I joined a team of 4 people.

This week we found out one of us was being eliminated. One person assumed it would and should be me that would go. But she found out it was her. Now she keeps saying "I am not mad at you...” and weird things like that. Now she is not losing her job she will just be doing a very different set of tasks. But I still sense bitterness and resentment.

So do I ignore it? Or do I talk to her?

Ignore her. If she has issues she should take it up with HR.

Talking to her could make things worse.

ignore it. talk to your supervisor if it continues to be an issue. it's your employer's job to handle this

You're employed; value it and ignore all the drama, because it has nothing to do with your job.

Short and sweet.

It's up to management to make sure that transitions are handled smoothly.
