True Blood Season 6 ep. 2 "The Sun"

It's starting in a couple of minutes! * woot! *

Via http://true-blood.net/201...live-chat/
*
*
"A long-lost relative reveals himself to Jason and Sookie. After Tara is victimized by a new government weapon, Eric takes matters into his own hands in an effort to thwart Burrell’s anti-vampire initiatives. On the road to work, Sookie is drawn to a handsome stranger who shares her faerie abilities. Sam is unnerved by supernatural-rights zealot Nicole (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), and is confronted by Alcide and Martha (Dale Dickey) about Emma’s future. Bill contemplates the scope of his heightened powers. Written by Angela Robinson; directed by Dan Attias."

Okay, overall a slow episode, but a good one.
*
I like Niall a lot more than I thought I would.
*
Sookie is a fucking dumb ass, but that's been well established. She doesn't even know who Ben is, if that's even his real name, and she shows him where the fairy safe house is. Stupid!
*
The Jessica praying scene was really touching. I liked their scenes tonight, except Bill talking to Lilith was boring.
*
I'm really pissed at Alcide and his fuck buddy needs her ass kicked immediately. I was rooting for LaLa to go all Brujo on her ass, bummer he didn't.
*
The Andy and his fairy daughter scene was short and sweet.
*
The Terry/Arlene/Patrick's wife scene was short and I really hope that's the last we see of that shittin' storyline.
*
I loved Eric. Stupid Governor! (On a personal note, I HATE how they've made Eric so easily punked. He's 1,000 years old not a baby vamp) His scene with the Gov had a great twist and we get to learn of a new human weapon, glamor resistant contacts.
*
Speaking of human weapons a silver bullet that emits UV light!?! YIKES!
*
Pam and Nora had a somewhat illuminating scene tonight. Looks like it restored some of Pam's mojo.

I hated last week, and I'm not sure how I feel about this week... But I do know it's not all positive.
In no particular order:

Bill... rolleyes

Sookie... just ugh. headache

Jason... holds the patent for annoyingly dense. doh!

Alcide... just take your clothes off. Don't speak. shhh

Lala... I hope he gets a better storyline deal

Eric... hmph!

Pam... mushy

Tara... hrmph (just. don't. like. her.)

Nora... just stake her already. mad

Jessica... sad

Arlene... stfu please

Niall... hah! all I see is the vamp from the Buffy movie.

Sam... promises, shmomises. A tween werewolf is NOT going to be fun to raise. ohgoon

My twocents
Good night! yawn

Im losing interest quickly. The pacing seems very rushed, I know that there is fewer episodes this season but it just seems thus far very bare bones.

I will totally agree on this. Eric played the shit out of that scene.

bored I often found myself wanting to turn the channel during the middle of the episode which speaks volumes.

I'm not getting why they have Lafayette getting beat up often in the past few seasons. The first two or three, he was kicking ass, you couldn't fuck with Lala. Now he's constantly laying somehwere all beat up. disbelief

Alcide...as Chocolate1 said, he just needs to show up naked. That's all.

I like Eric, but he's not enough to keep me interested or excited about this show any longer. shrug

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Well, LaLa changed a bit after being tortured by the Fangtasia crew, lost a little bit of his mojo. Now he's backing off because he's got that bad brujo juju and when it comes out, WATCH OUT. I was just hoping to see the brujo go all ape shit on that were chic.

This is definitely not on par with Season 1 and it is really rushed. There's still way too many storylines and minor characters are getting too much time, but I'm sure that's in the actors' contracts.

*

*

It completely sucks that this is a shortened season. It is messing with the pacing.

So how many episodes is it going to be this season? I know it was discussed on previous threads, but I've forgotten. Isn't it normally 12 episodes per season for True Blood?

To me the show went off track with this vampire authority and vampire bible/religion. Its too much of a jumble to add to the mythology. Billith is impossible for me to take seriously.

I don't HATE it because it's getting into the first vampires etc and I like that, but as far as on the show goes, I could absolutely do without it.

*

*

In the books, you had the magistrate and the Kings/Queens of the States, then you had regions, which were very briefly and very unnecessarily delved into. There wasn't all that AND and an Authority like there is on the show. Very redundant.

*

*

I like the power struggles. I like the mythology. I just wish it wasn't so all over the place.

A better episode than last week, but still, lazycrockett is right. They took the supernatural angle too far.
