Has anyone ever heard of being allium intolerant?

People who are sensitive or allergic to foods such as: onions, garlic, chives, leeks, scallions and so on.

I'm finding I seem to have an unusual sensitivity to a lot of very common foods.

I'm planning on testing my tolerance for such foods over the next couple of weeks, and then moving on to test others over the next few weeks. Since these things are in damned near everything under the sun, I'm going to be doing a lot of cooking and am looking for alternative aromics, I know celery, fennel and carrots.

My dad thought for 20 years he had a sensitivity to garlic and onions etc, but it was helicobacter pylorii responsible for all those years of gastric discomfort.

I know I get major headaches from eating raw onions, so I've avoided that for years. There seems to be a connection to my sinuses as well as some stomach discomfort. Over the past few years I've increased drastically on my use of cooking with certain items, cause damned near every recipe has them, and I've noted that sinuses are beginning to flare, headaches are increasing. I don't have seasonal allergies, flowers and perfumes don't generally give me headaches or make me sneeze, though I do get that itchy spiderweb tingle on the tip and around my nose at weird times. As far as the stomach and bloating n' stuff it does seem random.

Yes.

Can't handle the onions, leeks etcetera.

Life isn't calm at the moment, but as soon as it is, I will create myself good recipes as alternatives.

I also don't do tomatoes very well.

And will talk to my doctor about the bacterie that ZombieKitten her father had.

@ZombieKitten: How did your dad find out that was the cause?

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

The Sattvic diet sounded interesting, I never heard of it. I did look at it, but I see it does have a lot of milk in it which is a definite no no for me. I'm just testing out things now, like trying to use a little less olive oil and using green tea seed oil which has a high burn temp, unlike olive oil and since I find grapeseed oil inflammatory. The list just goes on.
