Cloud Atlas Is Amazing! So this is a movie people will love or hate...
But i think it is worth it to check it out!, it's almost 3 hours & i was never once bored
Love the way it jumps generation to generation, and also shows tid bits of history that jumps into the future.....
Halle Berry was fantastic, Tom Hanks has given me faith in him again...
And Huge Weaving.... this guy just pops up in the weirdest roles
Some will either think this movie is great or Prententious & overlong.
But check it out & make the opinion for yourself Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

It definitely had a lot of moving parts, but they all didn't seem to fit together in the end into one coherent theme. It was entertaining though.

Glad you enjoyed it, cause it died at the Box Office. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

Agreed with morningsong.None of it fit together in the end. The fact that we never got to hear the Cloud Atlas suite(complete) is only one of my critiques. Nice visuals aside.. my phone is heavy

After having watched it....I'm still not quite sure what it was about.

I read the book synopsis where each story is suppose to be reading something from the previous story which is how they are all connected. It seems the movie has a lot of extra themes added in which makes one lose the connection with all the jumping between stories, the tattoos, all the many different characters, and various quotes. I still can't remember the connection between 1972 & 2012, it just started looking like that the older people were added comic relief in the middle of the movie. Tom Hanks as the gangster gave me some giggles, and I died at the balcony scene. I got the connection between 2012 & future Korea though it was minor and easy to miss. I was disappointed there wasn't at least a single strong common idea that was obvious through each story in the end, but still it did keep your eyes and mind busy. Oh and the science, the seeing Earth as a big blue dot (a nod to Carl Sagan) from what I guess was another solar system, is just plain no, Mars is a little red dot from Earth. Only Star Trek can get away with such blatant mistakes.

I still have to go see this!!!!! Ugh. I may just have to movie-cheat on the people I usually go to the movies with.

^ you might want to go ahead and cheat. Not that my fav theatre is a true indication on what's happening elsewhere, but I looked at this weekend and Cloud Atlas is gone, Twilight is playing a gazillion times though.
