I don't get all the hype. Every six months or so Apple says "ooh, looky here" and people come running in droves with open wallets. If I didn't have a tablet or had a really old crappy one then maybe I'd bite but if I ran around buying a new device every few months when these goobers make an announcement, I'd feel like a chump. Is it just something people do for fun or is it a status thing or something?

Yes, I'm cheap... lol

Yeah i am over getting the latest greatest thing. Apple does nothing for loyal customers. The least they could do is let you trade in their products and get a credit towards a new device.

Cool for Apple fans. It's really a matter of preference.

Nexus 7 and IPad are the two top tablet dogs. I'm still

deciding of the two myself. Of course mine is gonna be

a gift so i have plenty of time to decide. I've been impressed

with the Nexus 7 but i'm hoping they drop a 10 inch tablet

before the holidays. I'm also interested in Windows 8. I've

already gotten a sneak preview of it in Office Depot. Nice.

The release date for the Nexus 10 is going to be announced on the 29th.

...and it's already drawin PRAISE

Lots of it

This lady was telling me I needed an iPad the other day, but that she was pissed because they changed the power adapter, which meant new purchases.

I said "well, I guess they are in the business of taking our money, afterall."

She didn't seem too pleased with that comment. But what does she think they are trying to do?! lol

Yanowhat? I used to think the same. Never EVER had the need or desire for an iPod, iPhone, iPad...

BUT

When I was given an iPod Touch, it blew me away. I realized what the hype was all about.

I have an Android phone issued by my job (until recently I had a Blackberry). There is NO COMPARISON between this stupid "Pantech" phone - even connected to my home Wifi network - and my (now defunct) iPod.

Now, I've never used a Kindle or a Nexus 7...so I can't comment how they would compare to an iPad...but if my lowly little iPod was so awesome, I can only imagine the iPad being "awesomererereererrrrr".

I have a close friend who works in the IT department of a major university. This woman gets every Apple product - usually right after they come out - because she needs to be up on them for her job.

Her exact words to me the other day about the Mini...

I would love one! My iPad2 is too big, but can't justify it right now having just received the iPhone5. It would be perfect in my purse, especially when traveling.

If I got the Mini, it would be the first time I've ever beaten this woman to the punch on anything Apple-related. It might be worth getting just for that. lol

You mean like travel & hit museums & stuff?

Because I agree 100%.

I know people who've lived all their lives on Long Island (30 minute train ride to NYC) and have never been to the Metropolitan or MoMA. Yet they have every gadget under the sun.

Not my business and not my concern...but the whole point of being here is to offer our OPINIONS, no? Isn't that the whole point of a thread? No one's here stating FACTS for the most part, it's usually all about opinions.

There is no Prince Pendant II, III, Iv or V being released every 6 months.

Regardless, it is money you could have done something else more productive with correct?

Apple and many consumer products keep rolling out these products every 6 months and they contain in some case less than 5% anything new or useful because they know people will line up 2 purchase this stuff. If u boght one 6 months ago........do u really need a new one when u are probably using less than 20% of the capability of the one u already OWN?

If u can't understand that......keep wasting your loot.

No money out of my pocket. U keep driving the stock price of Apple shares up........which actually puts money in my pocket.

Who said I was? lol

Who also said that my ipods are not at capacity?

You sure are introducing a lot of facts not in evidence. And, at the end of the day, it's their money. A diamond encrusted Prince symbol is a waste of money to a bunch of folks.

I don't think anyone is arguing that you are wrong about unnecessary purchases, they are just saying that everyone makes some of their own. If it's not a phone, it's clothes, jewelry, cars, eating out, etc.

If it makes them happy in some way, then who's to say it's stupid?
